Dixie won by like 30 or so. None of the starters really played all that much except Hatton. Hatton I dont think missed a shot the entire night. He probably had close to 20 or more in the game agaisnt the Aussie's.

Im not going to say who the little "birdie" is that i heard it from but if I told when I brought this issue up nobody would be questioning it. This "birdie" is very good friends with his family and peole on his summer team. So I dont think this "birdie" is lying. But dont take my word for it because they might be. I haven't heard a FOR SURE answer by anyone yet :laugh:

For one I never said it was true. It was what I heard. So im not creating a situation for any kid. What I am doing here is the same exact thing is say someone saying a kid is going to transfer schools or not based on what you've heard. Because thats all I did was put something up that i HEARD. So until I or anyone else say its true then you what you just put is totally useless and makes no sense.

Im not going to name names but a little birdie told me he just got suspended from any type of Beechwood athletics for 6 months. I dont know if its true or not but if it is that really is going to hurt the Tigers pitching.

Okay I went a little over board with that statement lol. But seriously Newport showed last night why they have only lost 2 games. And those 2 games being to one of the top teams in the state. Dont take this the wrong way but before last night I thought Newport beating all those teams was a fluke only because of Newports past in athletics. But they showed last night that they are one of the better schools up in here NKy.

Hands down. He can flat jump out of the gym. The put back dunk he had over #34 on Holmes was by far the best dunk of the night. Also did anyone else notice everybody on one side of the gym stand up with about two minutes to go in the game? They were all standing up looking at something. I couldnt make out what they were looking at. Anybody know? Just curious.

Holmes won this game by 10 but Newport played with them the entire game until the last two minutes. A VERY good game. Newports defence was great tonight. IMO Newport is in the top 5 in my own personal poll. They looked great tonight. If they take smarter shots or make the extra pass in the last two minutes of the game then Newport could have just as easily won this game. Holmes pulled away with this game with about two minutes to go. When the clock was at 2:03 the score was 51-48 Holmes. So you see how close this game was. Very good game by the Cats. They played with Holmes great tonight. I would say if i saw Holmes and Newport play 10 times this year Newport would win 40% or maybe 50% of the games. Also I think if Newports bench was just a man or two deeper they win this game.

Pike has been battling with a pretty bad sprained ankle from what i understand and i know that Trammel had surgery on monday on his back. I'm pretty sure Pike will play and Trammel should be back in time for regionals. i will take Dixie by 8+

Holmes 54 Newport 48

Ok well I guess "high powered" was the wrong word to use. This year through the first 10 games of the season the highest amount of points they have scored is 61. Actually they have only reached 60 points or higher one time this year. Last year through the first 10 games of the season the highest amount of points they scored was 76. And last year through the first 10 games of the season they scored 60 or more points 7 times, reaching 70 5 of those times. So even if their offense isnt "high powered" like you said it isnt, it defintaley has decreased alot.

Huge issue. Jamel was the heart and soul of this high powered offense last season.

And I know some Dog fans are going to get on here and think I'm bashing their team but I have all the respect in the world for the Dogs. I'm just trying to put a different look into people's perspective who thinks Holmes is "unbeatable" and "heavily favored"

Does anybody else see it? Or am I the only one? Holmes doesn't look as good this year as they did last year. I don't know if its just me or if other people are seeing it also. I'm throwing it out there that they will get upset during the regional tournament. Holmes this year just isn't as dominant as they were last year. Jamel Riley was the glue of this offense. Holmes offense isn't dominant this year. They only score 59 points against a at best mediocre team in Villa Madonna. Nothing against VM but they just don't have the talent Holmes has. Holmes is supposed to be what 1st-3rd in the state depending on which poll you look at and can only come up with 59 points against VM. Also only beating Pendleton County be 11 points? I know there is times teams play really good when they know they are the underdog but this is starting to turn into a habit for the Dogs, keeping it close or losing come halftime. The Dogs of last year would be probably around 9-1 outscoring their opponents by 20 to 25 points a game. Holmes should be winning games against teams like Villa and Pendleton and Beechwood by 40 points and scoring 70 to 80 points against teams like these. I think the only good win they have had this year was against Memphis Central and against the team from Az. All the games Holmes has won this season, they haven't by any stretch of the mind been dominant throughout the entire game like they should be against some of these teams that they should be beating by 30. All I'm saying is ANYONE has a shot in 9th region this year. I'm just saying getting beat at halftime by a team like Villa isn't going to cut it for them one game when a team knows how to put a team away. Holmes is probably the favorite in the 9th by majority of the people but i think anybody that has watched Holmes play this year knows as well as I do that any team can beat them. :sssh:

Highlands is for real. Only contender up here to beat Holmes IMO.

From what i've heard in the stands at games I think Trammel will be down for the next couple of games at least until after the Christmas break.

Seems like everytime highlands get beat fair in square somebody has an excuse! This thread was Dixie/Highlands, not Highlands/Boone Co. I enjoyed watching this game, it was physical and Dixie matched if not brought bore physicallity to the game!
