  1. The refs were consistent. Good or bad they were consistent. Scott went to the line just as much as Cooper but the difference if memory serves me is Scott missed a bunch of fts. It was physical but the refs had little to do with the outcome of the game game. Again, Scott could not keep McNeil out of the lane and when he wasnt scoring there he was getting fouled. Someone made a comment about coach Carr ripping his players etc etc (something to that effect) but personally I thought this was the calmest Ive ever seen him with his players. He n Sully are alike in that they demand execution on both ends. All u have to do is look how he handles Lou to understand what I'm talking about. Scott played hard and kept Collins out of double figures if I'm not mistaken and he's been on fire lately. The better team won tonite and adjusted to how the game was called which is what teams are supposed to do.
  2. Ugly officiated game but the Jags will take the win holding another team under 50. McNeil was very very agressive offensively which is how he will have to play in this region. Hopefully they can get by Conner next week as its tough to beat a team 3X in a season. Playtime is over with Jags. Win or go home next Weds.
  3. Scott will be a team to be reckoned with. They were young last year and gave SO a they could handle. I don't think they are top 5 but everyone shud keep an eye on them.
  4. Cooper will be solid if they can fill a huge void at QB, could be Ludwig (strong arm but not mobile) or Nathan Brown (younger brother of BC's Trevan Brown) who is very mobile and a strong arm but no varsity experience. Bricking will get a shot to carry the load after being the hole opener for Collins the last two seasons. Morgan will be very difficult to cover again but somebody has got to get him the ball. He should be the Lockdown corner in all of NKY to go along with a very good secondary. Their line should be solid on both sides of the ball but they will have to step up. A lil birdie also tells me that there is a strong possibility that a big time player from out of state may be moving to the area but more on this later.... Conner will be the front runner simply because of Drew but this district better watch out for South Oldham who has virtually everyone back with the exception of Sherry.
  5. If this is true this team will be pretty damn good if they have another couple of bigs to go with Davis. This will also reunite Brandon and McCormick back together. Both grew up playing AAU together 4th-8th grade together with the NKY Tar Heels. If they have bigs to go with B., Z, and Bolden this team could be nasty.
  6. If u are skilled enough nearly everyone plays up on the AAU circuit. Hatton's Ville Magic Team played up all of last year with few exceptions. It's commonplace.
  7. Is there any news, or maybe I missed it, on the Holmes coaching situation? Been a while now since I heard anything.
  8. LaSalle would be a good move if he's moving. I doubt that the issue is money as the BC school district is scheduled for cutting funds/teachers so I would be surprised there. With Boone, if that is the path, does look more attractive than CCH. At least there is a better opporunity to "at least get to State" then remaining at CCH for the immediate future. Again, anything can happen and maybe next year or the following CCH gets by HHS but I don't see it. I do see Boone having the potential get out of the region and get down WKU sooner than I see CCH beating HHS. Boone has a big pool of players to draw from and with the right coach/system they may be able to get some additional athletes to come out and play that traditionally have not been a fan of "3yrds and a cloud of dust" style they have had forever. JMO.
  9. Aside from the obvious in Drew Barker looks like there were be a good amount of talent in the Class of 2014 in NKY. Good luck to these and all Sr's in next years class. Let's hope more schools make the rounds in NKY to take a look. http://nky.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20130211/SPT0302/302110038/
  10. Very very very disappointing loss. No effort, emotion or focus. Clinton Co. part 2!! Hats off to the wildcats for a strong effort after it looked like the jags woke up after half. They are a scappy team that doesn't quit and have a spirited leader in coach Snap. The Jags problem is there is not one single leader on the team that is willing to put the team on his back and get the players to play the way they are capable of playing. They better "Figure It Out" and quick or I foresee an early exit from tourney play and that includes the districts. It's tough to beat a team 3X's in a season and Conner is licking their chops to get at the Jags again judging from a tweet from one of their staff insiders. Right now my opinion has changed in that its a two team race to Rupp and one of them is not the Jags. Just when u think they've turn the corner they pull the rug out from me. Wake up Jags!
  11. Walter I'm glad u out it out there before I did. I still feel the Dawgs take this one by 10 or more. None of the top 4 teams can say they are better than the other 3 with the exception of Holmes cuz until someone knocks them off, and IMO it won't be NCC this Friday, they are the only team that can claim to be better than Cooper or CCH and that's after Cooper clearly dominated CCH and lost by 2 to NCC yes without 2 of its starters. So, slow ur roll S II and let's play the game before u start talking about just how much better u THINK ur team is.
  12. No worries. While we all back our favorite teams in good spirit I know everyone never wants a player hurt or not to play up to his ability. No offense taken.
  13. Butler did in fact offer Ben. He took 3 visits to Butler and they blew his phone up as well as personal hand written letters wanting him. While this is strictly business this one was a ugly on Butlers part. Just because they are a non-scholly school doesn't mean they can't stop him from joining the team this summer when all recruits show up in the summer (ie. the top 105 players) as this would mean he would be a walk-on who could not begin until the rest of student body starts which would be 2-3 weeks later. Luckily for him he has a for he does have some options that have presented themselves, Dayton being one of them. He's a good kid and a good fb player that will get his opportunity to play somewhere.
  14. Not sure where sub-par comes from but Lou has had some key injuries the whole season and I admire him for trying to play through them. When he's fully healthy he has shown he can play with the best of them. For now anything Cooper gets out of him is a bonus. Everyone hopes he's healthy for the stretch run.
  15. Well idk if the a jags can make it out of the region but they are playing very very well right now and will be a tough out and a team that will have something to say about who goes to Rupp.
  16. I've been saying it all year. Defense goes a long way. When people make the comment that cooper can't score enough I come back with it only takes one point to win. This team plays great defense and that's the bottom line. They have given up 50 or more points only 5 times this season. For those who keep doubting if this team isn't for real I say to you "hold that thought". McNeil had only 9 for the game and no other player in double figures besides Collins. That's defense!!!! Ill take that any day of the week.
  17. The Dawgs win this one by 10. Holmes has faced size already in playing Cooper and their bigs were able to stay out of foul trouble even though big Lou was playing on one ankle they were able to control of the bangers of Hathorn and Shelton. Additionally they were able to weather the storm of the Cooper shooters McNeil and Collins who got real hot and gave them a 5 point lead in the fourth. The bottom line is NCC has no one to keep up with Bolden and he will get to the lane with ease. After watching what he did to CC I don't see anyone from NCC stopping him unless they decide to double him which will cause other problems. Just my opinion but they athletism will take over in this one.
  18. Great kid and great family so I'm very happy for him. PWOs are very important as my man Clyde pointed out cuz if u have to wait 3-4 weeks before school starts with the rest of the students puts u in a tremendous hole. One of my older boys was in the same boat years ago at a D1 school in AL and I couldn't have imagined him even making the team had he not been there early. Best of luck Cole, you've come a long way from the days in the BCPWFL.
  19. SK has a solid team but I think the size of Cooper and the pressure on their pg caused some problems. The refs did not help out either team tonite. Prob one of the worst officiated games I've seen this year.
  20. Funny how when BOTH teams shoot exactly 25 (not 30 as previously stated) free throws the team that loses starts complaining. Bottom line is Cooper's defense is pretty darn good and they will match the intensity of their opponent. The game was physical by both teams. Cooper holds another opponent under 50pts.
  21. Jack will have a chance to play immediately. The starting QB was a senior and his primary backup from last season has not returned to school yet due to some personal issues. May be a great opportunity to play right away.
  22. Winning doesn't have to be pretty just effective. Cooper is only giving up 43pts/game and IMO I like their defense enough to give themselves a shot in the regionals. While their not the flashiest team nor the highest scoring they do have two shooters that can go off at the flip of a switch, two solid bigs who will bang with anybody in this region along with a decent shot blocker when healthy and a pg that takes care of the ball and is quick enough to guard any other guard in the region along with a solid bench. They are good enough, just like the other 3 teams that can make it out. They will be a tough out and I can promise u most teams don't won't look forward playing them. If they get blown out by CCH I may agree with u but I don't see that happening. This team loves the underdog role.
