Rebels never allowed Clinton a chance to get started. Score was 22-0 midway through first quarter and Casey defense dominated holding Clinton to -19 yards in the first half. Bulldogs got in the end zone on the final play of the game against Casey JV to make final score 55-6.

I believe this could be a trap game for Casey. The Rebels traveled to Albany with very similar circumstances (suspended players) in 2009 and returned home with an "L". I believe Casey will be okay, but focus has to be there and they need to strike quickly. The longer the Bulldogs hang around, the more level the playing field becomes in this game. I am going with a 32-14 Rebel win.

Yes, there was a guarantee of a running clock on another thread. I did not feel that was a fair assessment. I was not using Taylor County as a measuring stick...I was using the decent showing against Simon Kenton. I do appreciate you saying Casey is a decent football team. I think that is a pretty good description and all of us in the Rebel faithful believe we will win some more games and possible even pull an upset.

No not really, we all know which victories count. I just think it is funny how people make "guarantees" on Thursday and won't return the following week to admit they were wrong. I picked Casey to win...I was wrong....I got no problem admitting that. I was looking through Red and Columbia Blue colored glasses.

Coach Stephens left because he wanted to. He could have stayed, but this was probably the best time for him to leave for the program's sake. 2012 will be a rebuilding year for Casey.

What internal problem? Also, the Rebels have 8-10 players that have been getting big minutes since they were freshmen and the "new" coach has been with the seniors for three of their four seasons. It's not like Coach Marple is unfamiliar with the personnel.

They are a 1-1 football team. I don't think they have left earth. The Rebels are well aware of what they are up against every week. They will go to Greensburg and play hard and let the scoreboard tell the tale.

Should be a good game. Taylor/Casey is usually a battle and I don't expect anything any different this year. I'll take the Rebels in a close one.

That's a pretty good approximate number. There were four or five kids that were not in uniform due to injury.

14-7 at halftime. Casey played hard the entire night. Fatigue and turnovers caught up with the Rebels in the second half, but a definite good showing for a team with a thin roster.

Did not see the continual clock many were predicting.

I heard Casey scored three TD's and PC scored two.

I agree partially with you and disagree partially with you. SK should win, but not because Casey is rebuilding. Casey still has the nucleus from last year's team that went 8-4. The "new" coach was part of the building process that led up to last year. (He was gone for off the field reasons last year.) He was brought back because he is familiar with the kids and the program. The Rebels matched up well with Pulaski on Saturday, so I wouldn't write them off just yet. They should be able to compete in 3A. (By the way, when Casey agreed to play in the Death Valley Bowl, they were not aware that the opponent would be a 6A school.)

If the Lady Rebels stay healthy, they should be in the mix to win the 12th Region.
