Pulaski County 2011

Featured Replies

What does Pulaski County need to do to improve in 2011? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Pulaski has had an impressive decade under Hines. I am looking for them to return to the "final 4" in Class 5A soon, and may just go to Bowling Green in the near future.

The last decade at Pulaski County:

2001 - 5-6 (Lost in first round of playoffs)

2002 - 7-5 (Lost in second round of playoffs to eventual state champion Boyle County)

2003 - 11-2 (Lost to eventual State Champion Boyle Co. in District Title Game, and in Region Title Game)

2004 - 7-4 (Lost in first round of playoffs)

2005 - 2-8

2006 - 2-9 (Lost in first round of playoffs)

2007 - 10-2 (Lost to Lincoln County both times. Lincoln was Regional Champ, lost to Highlands)

2008 - 8-4 (Lost to Whitley County in round two. Whitley won region and lost to Highlands)

2009 - 10-4 (Started 0-2 and rebounded to win the District Title, and Region Title. Lost to Highlands in round 4)

2010 - 11-2 (Lost to Henry Clay in double OT, and lost the Region Title game at Harlan County. Beat Harlan Co. earlier in the season. Won second straight District Crown)

Not a bad decade for a team that was the "worst football" school in the state in 1993, 1994.

They should (do the bolded), east half of 5A only has a couple of teams to get through to get to the finals. Basically if the Maroons can get by SW and Harlan Co. they have a legit chance to get to BG the next 4 years.....east half of 5A is wide open. Good Luck Maroons!

Coach Hines has done a great job. The Maroons should continue their upward progression despite the loss of some key players. Pulaski has a great feeder system. I believe their middle school won the state title last year. Good Luck PCHS!

That would be Southern Middle's 8th Grade. The feeder program for the Southwestern Warriors. I think 25-30 of those 8th graders will be playing on JV/V this coming season.

The Northern 7th grade, Pulaski's feeder program, did win the state. Some very talented young men on the way to Coach Hines.

Somerset, Southwestern, Pulaski all good football programs with great feeder programs. These three schools represent the high caliber of football talent that is Pulaski County. Didn't Somerset's middle school win the state a few years back?

Southern Middle School (Southwestern's feeder school) won the 8th grade state championship last season.

Northern Middle School (Pulaski's feeder school) won the 7th grade state championship last season.

Meece Middle (Somerset's feeder school) won year before last.

Pretty impressive to have three state champion middle schools in two years from the same county.

I forgot about the 7th graders! Sorry! Looks like the entire county has some talented young men! :)

I heard Casey scored three TD's and PC scored two.
