  1. Now that I have let off a little steam let me say this; Boone County's game plan and execution last night was as good as it gets in High School Basketball. Congratulations and I hope we meet in the Region for the Championship.
  2. No way do I think the refs cost Ryle the game. Boone was on last night and did everything right. I just get perturbed when the men in stripes get in the way of the game. I've kept my mouth shut most of the season on the officiating but it is at it's lowest level in the 9th Region and not just with Ryle.
  3. You could call a foul every time down the floor if you wanted to. she gets penalized for aggressive play while Boone's same style of play gets overlooked. I just would really like the refs to stay in the background where they belong and let 2 physical teams play the game.
  4. You know what they say about opinions? I've watched him ref games for years and if you don't think he favors certain coaches and teams and holds grudges against certain programs and teams better get a new pair of glasses.
  5. 10 three pointers by my count. 3 girls from Boone had big nights that didn't score in the last Boone Ryle matchup. Boone came to play tonight.
  6. Boone was lights out shooting tonight but it would really be nice to see Ryle's star play more than 10 minutes. I'd like to see Boone play any game with 10 minutes of Moss. Freppon and Coles are a joke as referees. I'm beginning to think I might have done something to them years ago and this is my payback:)
  7. Crittendon is always a non factor when Tom Freppon and Bobby Coles are part of the officiating crew. Congratulations to Boone. Enjoy it, the Region starts Monday.
  8. Are you kidding me? Jack Jennings is still a beast! He'd still put 40 on Geisler.
  9. If you don't think Lauren Tibbs can compete with the best, you are wrong my friend. Other than her size, she has great hands and footwork and can flat out fill it up. I feel the same way about Miss Moss.
  10. No rain until after midnight is what the local stations are reporting. As for POY, they are both great players. I believe Lauren would shine no matter who she plays for. Same with Sydney.
  11. Having read all of these comments, our opinions differ on this topic as they do on every other topic. Being a lover of newspapers in general, I do read the Enquirer because it's all we have. I would much rather have a Courier Journal type newspaper here but, as I said earlier I believe newspapers are soon to be a thing of the past. I miss the Marty Kehoe's, Hal McCoy's, Earl Lawsons and Pat Harmon's of the sports world.
  12. That's pretty much how I would rate them. Boone better be careful, they were extremely lucky to beat Cooper in the Districts.
  13. Nice win Raiders! As for Conner? What were the supposed gurus of basketball thinking when they voted Conner #1 in the Pre-season? They have disappointing, to say the least.
  14. Doing a little cheerleading for Boone?
  15. They need the players who can compete, as well. They had a pre- Christmas schedule that did nothing more than give their young ladies a false sense of hope. When Coach Oliverio took over at Ryle they were loaded with "Cupcakes" on their schedule. Once these contracts ran out she started scheduling tougher teams in tougher venues. They continue to play away from home until late in the season and it has helped build a more confident team who can handle adversity and unfriendly enviorments. I'm just trying to give a few suggestions. I remember the Jackie Bearden days of Dixie girls basketball when my younger brothers were in school there. I'd like to see them get back to one of the elite programs.
  16. Ryle needs to take care of the guards, as they did in their last matchup. Also, they need to get Nash a little farther from the basket. She made her points last night 2-3 feet from the basket.
  17. Agree completely. They can start by improving on their schedule. The only way to continue to improve your team is to play tough teams week in and week out. They are not laone in that respect. There are a number of teams who play a pretty cushy schedule.
  18. Should be another titanic game between the # 1 and #2 teams in Northern Kentucky. Boone is ranked a little higher in the State Polls and overtook Ryle as the #1 Team in Northern Kentucky in the last week in the regular season. Of course, I love the Raiders chances of un- seating the Rebels as 33rd District Champions. The winner will get the better draw in the Region Tournament so there is a lot at stake. If last game was any indication, better get there early.
  19. The battle of Boone County Round 2 tomorrow night at 7:pm at Cooper High School. Thoughts or comments on how this latest game will play out?
  20. Congratulations to all of these young ladies! You have all been a joy to watch.
  21. Halftime of the Boone-Conner game has Boone leading 32-25 with Moss scoring 16 in the 1st half.
  22. How do you know it will be Boone:)? Thursday at 7:30
  23. Final from Cooper High School. Ryle was led by Cheeseman 19, Jump 11, Meyer 10, Crittendon 9. This one was over before the end of the 1st quarter. Ryle subs played over half the game.
