The fact that you're in an SK/Ryle thread bashing the Pioneers is a sign of angst in this guys eyes. Maybe you should go back to a Highlands thread to be high and mighty. We're just a lil football team from little ole Independence. You're the mighty bluebirds. Why should you worry? Game is at 7 this week and 7 next week vs. Campbell. Since you appear more concerned with our Pioneers than you are with the Colonels, only makes sense that we'd see you in Union tomorrow.

If your program didn't run the score up on other schools they may have not been given that nickname and other programs in NKY would have scheduled them. You mention respect, something you may need to check the definition to truly understand the meaning. Thanks for coming to watch SK/CC last year. Come check out the game next week and let me know your anxiety level as you begin to dread the matchup with us next year.

On the positive side, atleast you're not going up there in mid November. You may not even be able to see your breath Saturday.

I know the deal. Just thought I'd remind everyone that even mighty Highlands can't control their own schedule. To your third point, SK has pulled starters in blowouts. I'll be interested to see if the new regime in Cake City will do the same or if they'll try to get 100 on Harrison.

Just wait for how much pressure will be on next years HHS team to not lose to SK. Highlands will have all the pressure and SK will be able to play free and loose. I can already see it in the posts by certain HHS fans. The dread has set in.

South Laurel/Madison Southern predictions
NKY Bandit replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Football (High School)
I admit that I know nothing about South Laurel (except that I like their BB coach). However, I think Southern has a pretty good tailback. I'll take Southern. -
Which County has better football?
NKY Bandit replied to uk#1fan's topic in KY Football (High School)
This isn't the place for logical thought. Pure emotion only please! -
Speaking of cupcakes, enjoy those game with Harrison County and Holmes. Isn't Harrison 0-5? Holmes 1-3?

Which Is More Important: JV or Freshman Football?
NKY Bandit replied to TheDeuce's topic in KY Football (High School)
I'm going with Freshman. Many top tier guys don't play JV anyway and Freshman is when you install the offense/defense and teach kids your system. After that, it's about the Jimmys and Joes. -

Kenton.....because it's where I live. -
Ideally you run to set up the pass. However, if you don't have the right personnel, throwing may not be an option. Don't get caught up on passing by thinking of the QB, you need an OLine that can pass block and it's completely different than run blocking. You also need receivers that can get open and catch.

Cupcakes from Cake City.....very creative.

BGP 6A Rankings 11 to 15 for 9-22
NKY Bandit replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
I'd love to see the total 6A ranking, top to bottom. I thought 6A was very balanced last year and believe this year is setting up to be a repeat. -
If anything, I'd like to see SK up one spot to #6, ahead of McCracken. I can't make a strong argument because I've yet to see McCracken play.

What a Weekend of High School Football
NKY Bandit replied to BillyBob1967's topic in KY Football (High School)
Ran into Olmstead of SK at Miami while he was doing a visit. Haven't heard anything about Winkler to EKU or WKU. I think his size may hurt him some but he has great hands. -
I should have said Highlands and SK. Highlands has been good for 100 years (or so I hear) and SK did have a disappointing 2011 season.

I'm still trying to figure out why all those corporations bought tickets but nobody ever sits in those seats. If you bought them, and aren't using them, give them away. Boys club, elementary school, fire fighters, military...someone would enjoy sitting there.

Not trying to get in the middle of your discussion with HB, but....really depends on where you're program is in it's maturation. If you're an established team, 6-4 is fine with strong opponents. If your developing, 10-0 may be more important to you. BTW, still no way to know, from year to year, which teams in NKY will be good. With the exception of Highlands, its a coin flip.

NKY Football Coaches Poll Week 5
NKY Bandit replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
Slight edge over "the rest"? One of two things going on here- you either know nothing about football (which I doubt) or you're just so afraid of SK's ascent that you can't face reality. -
To your surprise, I'll take the Pioneers in this one. Why, you might ask? Still mad at the PA guy for playing music while my Pioneers are at the line of scrimmage in a no huddle. Oh yeah, don't like that Union yacht in the endzone either.

Is Simon Kenton's football program on the decline???
NKY Bandit replied to RCC9's topic in KY Football (High School)
If Cooper wins tonight, it's because SK shot itself in the foot. Nothing more. SK has more size and talent.
