I hope that Ballard's guard's are their strongest point because that being the case this should be a great shootout. Didn't see much inside game from the highlights, and that is one factor that troubled into Elliott's losses. I still don't think a 15 point win or nothing of that nature but I do feel very good about what Ballard emphasis on; Elliott has the best guards in the state. I think the Lions will win this one but you can't convince anyone of anything until you do it; so go gettem Lions!!!!! :dancingpa

On senior night with this bunch of boys, I would say by 50 and with ferguson having 10's three's. It would be nice if that happened. Lions by whatever they want!

I don't know much about Ballard so I will make a blind prediction. ELLIOTT 92 BALLARD 84 What will some of the matchup be, what are Ballard significant wins, and what is their style of play?

They have a game on Thursday against Flemming County (Senior Night). Isn't it a little too early to be discussing this?

If Elliott made it to the state tourny and won their first game they would play Shelby Valley or Mason (if we are playing the scenario game), think about the ticket that night Scott-Holmes and Elliott-Mason.

And I would suppose that it didn't take any of these ingredients for you to cheer on your team this year; I believe that you did win a state title and should know all too well what I am saying. Not being cocky, but it is a good trait to have when you are in contention for a state title. Sorry that you feel this way towards Elliott because you of all people being from the mountains should know that we are a different breed that must build success through hard work. It is amazing what hustle and determination can compel you to do. Getting back to the game. It was great to see the boys play like they should and are expected too. The guard play was phenomenal and Elliott controlled and made Mason play the way Elliott wanted them to. Last night something happened that happens to a lot of Elliott opponents; they just wore them down and were all over the place. When Elliott plays with heart and their will to win was outstanding like it was; they cannot be beat. Everything falls into place when they are hustling like they did last night and this team has to understand that they can win 99% of the games they play by just flat out keeping the opponent’s head spinning so fast that they do things they don’t' want to. People say well Elliott can be controlled when you slow the play down, but you haven't seen Elliott play defense if you think that. You have too and are forced to do something when you have Tasmanian devils all around you. The only team or player that I have seen take Elliott out of their game by controlling the tempo is the Justice kid from Shelby Valley(which is a very underrated team IMO); know we know what to expect from that and will see different result if we face them again. Overall it was a great win and Mason will be a great team for years to come. It was a great win and a good feeling but can’t bake in the moment to long because this battle was nothing compared to the one’s to come.

The Wayland Wasps back in the 50's. Adolf Rupp said that he was the greatest high school basketball player to ever play and I think that is how he got the nickname the King but I am not forsure on that.

King Kelley Coleman at 48 points per game. He has about every scoring record or is at least in the top 5. They didn't call him the King for nothing, and to think he didn't play at West Virginia because Kentucky made them investigate gifts that were given to him. Back them the cats didn't take no prisoners; we need to get back to that way.

I am a Elliott County diehard and I say give credit where credit is do. They deserve to be the #1 team and IMO I think that Shelby Valley should move into the top 5 and Elliott in the range of 4-6. But if Elliott wins Saturday they should be back in the top 3.

I knew he was going to be a contributer after the East game. He could be the player that comes on late in the season and makes a world of difference. I liked what he did tonight and was very proud of him; if he hits the weight and gets stronger, next years post play will be sick. Holmes has the athletes no doubt. IMO I question their mental toughness and if they have the mindset to win a state title. If it was a dunk contest and a pick up game I think Holmes wins 9 out of 10 and is tough to beat. I think that Holmes is easy to control and get into their head when their type of game isn't being played. But like Eta said yesterday, I was crazy for Mason not having the athlete's and being able to matchup with the Lions; but what do I know.

I couldn't figure that out either. They really could have used him, he was playing fine to me from what I saw. Mason will have some very good teams in the years to come, but Elliott started to take them out of their game when Evan started to take control in the second quarter. But that is a very good question.:irked:

Like I said this one was not close. I was very happy to see the boys play the way they could. You can't compete with the guard play when Elliott County is on. Great win for the lions! Now the real test is Saturday against Ballard. So proud of these boys and eta should have come to watch the best team in Kentucky tonight because I had his t-shirt.

Has anybody heard of the crowd size yet, I would figure that the crowd is starting to accumilate. Just seeing if anybody has heard before I start that way.

Never watched Anderson play, didn't know much at all about them till that night (hats off to them). I have seen Mason and after watching Elliott on Saturday sub their other 6'6'' center (which Timmy will do fine), I think that they can beat and wear down Mason's big man; putting more focus on guard play where Elliott shines. Don't think that Mason has the athletic ability to run with Elliott. Mason has more weak points in the starting five IMO and will have trouble matching up with Elliott. It will be a good game no doubt, but I think in the end Elliott will wear them down. In order for this to happen Elliott has to be on top of their game; how I know they can play. If that don't happen then I can see where you can make a case. Tuesday will tell all and I can't wait to watch this game because it is a great game for both teams so late in the season.

Not overlooking Mason at all! I said that they wouldn't tame the lions and based on what I seen with Mason this year they won't be able to run with Elliott. They are the defending state champs but I think we all agree not the same team. IMO I think that it won't be a close game and Ballard will be the REAL test. That is just support for the boys in the hook; tuesday we will see if I am right or wrong. It is just an opinion and they are like you know what; everyone's got one.

I have seen Mason Play and don't think they can tame the Lions. Elliott 76 Mason 62 Ballard will be the real test for Elliott!

What does this mean? They won't be able to keep Dale from tearing down the walls.:taz: He won't sleep for a week.

That being said, I'm not sure they ever have (and probably never will) face the kind of "atmosphere" they are getting ready to see next week. That compiled with the actual trip to Sandy Hook is going to be tough. :thumb: It is going to be great!!!!!!

I will say that Elliott wins BOTH of these games. Everybody had been saying that Elliott don't play anyone and are not worthy of their exposure. Next week will show a lot of people that this team is the real deal. Both teams will be way out of their element and we will see if they can handle the hostile environment.

Also a away game on the schedule at Russell. So we will see how it will play out.
