SC makes a big come from behind 4th period to win 57-49 I think was the final. Paintsville led the whole game til another meltdown in the fourth. No stats though. (Copy and pasted from another site.)

Mason Co.hasn't played Holmes. They did lose to Highlands the first game of the year.

I would say every team in the state would love the expectations that people have of Mason Co. A win is a win is a win.

I love when people say that if this person played well they would have won. Maybe it had something to do with Keith Downing playing defense on Mr. Custard the entire night.

Mason is wore out and Campbell Co. has been impressive lately winning the AIT and making it to the finals of the MCIT. Who will pull it off?

The game was never in doubt, but I agree that the Royals are looking very sluggish. Setty really needs to step up on both ends of the floor for Mason County to be a legitimate threat on the state level. Setty has too much talent to be playing the way he is. I love Pawsatt and the toughness he brings along with Downing. Neal took over the game in one stretch when Harrison Co. tried to push him around at the top of the key. Neal then answered with a steal, a basket, and a huge block on the defensive end. Slopply game from the start, and the officiating really helped set the tone for the game to be sloppy the entire game.

A bad night for Hazard is getting worse. Clark County held the Bulldogs scoreless for almost four minutes to start the second half, and the Cards opened up a 48-28 lead as the third quarter ended. As the teams went to their benches, a Hazard player was whistled for a techincal, and Clark County added a free throw to its lead and will get the ball to start the fourth quarter.

Clark County turned in an impressive first half and leads Hazard 35-20 at the break. The Cardinals shot 64% while holding Hazard to 31%. Sophomore Robbie Stenzel’s 12 points lead Clark County. He’s hit 5 of 6 shots, including 2-for-2 on threes. Corey Rogers has 6 rebounds. Vinny Zollo has 8 points. Hazard hasn’t been able to generate any rhythm. Josh Whitaker and Robert Warren have 5 points apiece for the Bulldogs.

LexCath’s young guys carried a lot of the load in the Knights’ 57-46 victory. Sophomores Scott Schuette (13 points, 4 rebounds) and Taylor Martin (12 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds) led the way. Freshman Jaylen Beckham had 7 points, including 5 down the stretch. Senior Taylor Botkikn had 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. St. X was led by Brian Gunter’s 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists.
