Lexington Catholic 57 St. Xavier 46

LexCath’s young guys carried a lot of the load in the Knights’ 57-46 victory. Sophomores Scott Schuette (13 points, 4 rebounds) and Taylor Martin (12 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds) led the way. Freshman Jaylen Beckham had 7 points, including 5 down the stretch. Senior Taylor Botkikn had 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.

St. X was led by Brian Gunter’s 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists.

Sounds like a nice balanced attack for the Knights.

The game was closer than the score indicates. St. X had to foul in the last minute and Catholic hit the free throws.

The foul disparity was very favorable for the home team.

Good job Lex. Catholic. Make the 11th region proud.

Hope we don't see this in the finals tonight.

Except for all the fouls went on Sanford. You wouldn't think their best player would get all the fouls.

Doubt this would be the case with a 10th vs 11th matchup.

No mention of Sanford's dunk at the end of the game?

For his sixth point?

X defense was hard and tough on Vee.
