In my opinion, CAL could be the dark horse to cut down the nets in Diddle. 1) They are well coached 2) Have a star player in Slaughter 3) Have a great #2 with Buchanan 4) They have depth They will prove to be a very tough out.

As of right now, Simon Kenton is the class of the region. Shelby, Anderson, and maybe another (Oldham?), could challenge. However, Simon looks really good so far and will be hard to dethrone.

Most middle school or freshman girls that play varsity, don't even dress freshman. I would say its pretty standard that kids play in two games. (ex. JV and Varsity or Freshman/JV) This isn't a practice that just affects high school. Most middle schools have 6th grade teams. You see some that have kids pulling the "triple-header". However, most just have kids play on two teams--similar to high school.

Can Anderson match up with Drake?

I've seen South's freshman group and was impressed. I've heard mixed reports on the Shelby girl. Some say she's the next in line of D-1 talent. Others seem to think she will be a good, but not great player. I look forward to seeing her. Did Gayheart play last year? I don't remember her, but I only saw Owen once. She sounds like the real deal. The big freshman for Anderson is tough, and they have some middle school kids dressing varsity. I was wondering what Simon Kenton or Carroll has coming up?
