Mercer and Anderson have always had a heated rivalry and it's good to see these 2 schools playing each other in basketball. Maybe, next year they can start playing again in football.

This Friday night Mercer plays at Anderson. Any thoughts on this game?

I am really interesting in seeing this matchup. I have yet to see Penny play but I have heard that his game is in the paint. The same goes for Taylor who is a legit 6'5 player who can dominate in the paint. I wonder if Taylor will have the maturity to match Penny?!? Should be a good one!

Mercer is going to have a very, very good season.

But with the game at Anderson County, I think it will be a toss up.

Either could win, but by less than ten.

Mercer by 4

I haven't seen Mercer play yet, but I will when they play Boyle County. As long as they aren't playing us I wish them well. I'd like to see Jamel get about 25-30 points on Anderson. Good luck Titans!!!

Haven't seen Taylor or Mercer play. Anderson is a real threat to win the 8th region and many have them in the Top 25 in the state. Penny is the real deal and may end up at Western Kentucky University and has several D-1 offers. If Taylor can hold his own with Penny then he is the real deal and a D-1 potential player. Have heard good things about Taylor, but he doesn't show up in the Top 25-30 player listings around the state. Maybe with some more 29 point games like he had in Stearns he will come early spring. I understand he is a junior and very athletic at 6'5".

With that said and the fact that AC is 3-0 with all wins in double digits I'll pick AC by 10.

If Mercer's guard play does not improve then Anderson should have no problem with Mercer. Poor decision making down the stretch last night that IMO cost them the game.

Taylor COULD be a stud if he really wanted it. He has all the athletic ability in the world but does not seem to want to use it. Right now, he is NAIA material but with a lot of hard work I would not see any reason as to why he could not play lower D1. Not for sure if that will happen, though.

Gotta go with Anderson by 8.

This could well be the Bearcats year to return to the Sweet 16. I felt for them last year, when practically the whole team became ill during the 8th Region, including Penny.

Bearcats coach Glen Drury - second in tenure in the 8th Region only to Oldham's Gary Forrest - is one of the top coaches in the state. He's one of the most unsung coaches in the state, probably because he hasn't been able to get past Shelby, Oldham, and (formerly) Scott County enough to reach Rupp and get the attendant press... Drury's one of my favorites - I'm not from Anderson County, but I'd like to see the Bearcats do well for Glen...he deserves it.

Mercer backcourt needs help! You can't start the offense at mid court! While Taylor is being triple teamed someone has got to step up, Maybe when McCloud gets healthy.
