The best kids should play period. The "really good" sophs and juniors that are passed by middle school kids, probably aren't "very good". The idea of entitlement has plagued more than just sports. If someone, especially one much younger than you, passes you, then work that much harder to beat them out. Competition for jobs is the foundation for competitive athletics.

Hand checking, hard screens, or grabbing a jersey isn't what would consider dirty. To me, dirty play is intentionally trying to really hurt someone. For example, undercutting someone in the air is a dirty play. Stepping on a player that is down is dirty. In my opinion, you rarely see these types of plays in girls basketball.

Do you go to any of the middle school games? Since most play fall ball, you'd probably see most of them play.

It will be fun next year to have the "top ten young players in the 8th" thread.

I have seen whitfield, she's impressive. Also, melton is a nice shooter. I saw gayheart last year, I'm sure she's Improved. Like you said, the 8th will be fun to watch the next few seasons.

I believe McKee is in 7th, not 9th.

CM, you've seen a lot of the young talent. How does brown and mckee compare?

Anderson has a nice group of young kids. It will be interesting to see how they develop, especially since the numbers are down in the classes ahead of them.

That being said, I'd use it too if it was to my advantage.

They did and it was freezing. It's always hard to play a bad team and come back the next night and play a better team. Not to take anyway from Oldham, but Anderson didn't look themselves. That being said, Oldham is getting better.

There is a shock...parents unhappy? In sports? Next thing you know pro wide receivers will be prema donnas.

It's going to be interesting to see how Anderson does over the next few weeks. They have Dunbar and Christian Academy Louisville back to back coming up. Either one of those would be "statement" wins for them. Although, they may have had a big one already--their win over Lafayette looks better by the day.

Nice win for Highlands. Notre Dame is a very solid basketball team.

Wasn't at the game, but the clock is huge... I believe anything under .6 has to be a tip in. When was the last time you saw a girl do that?

Also, don't discount the adjustments that Zimmerman will make. She is one of the finest coaches in the state.
