I don't consider this an upset. Both teams have respectively the same records in their Regions. LCA hitting their free throws down the stretch made the difference in this game.I wonder how Fruth, the PG. for MC, handle the ankle injury from the game before & was he at 100%. I hope all the Indians stay healthy because they are facing to tough road games this week at McCleary Central and Harrison Co. Getting Back to MC for the DISTRICT Tourn. will be a welcome Homecoming. Congrats to Coach Griesser, Staff and team on the win. Really playing well at the end of regular season. Hope Fruth's ankle is not to bad. At this time in the season, injuries and sickness is going to play a big part in how the tournament goes. It is effecting all the teams now. Good luck to the Indians Sat. vs LCA.

I am sure Coach Griesser and staff would have preferred a w in the column, but they have to be pleased the way the team has been playing the last 6 or 7 games. Looking for the Indians to finish the regular season strong going into tournament time.

Congrats to Montgomery Co. Coach Griesser,coaching staff, and team on a great road win. What was the DEFENSE that Mont. Co. played that gave Mason so much trouble? I have been seeing some teams play alot of matchup zones that collaspe down on the post player and still matchup well with the outside shooters. This was what Rowan Co. played against GRC last week.

Rowan Co.s matchup 2/3 zone pushed Clark out in the floor where they were not comfortable in running their offense. Robbie Stenzil sick & not able to play did not help Clark's offense. He has the range to consistent hit his 3 pt. shots from there. Rowan Co. played very hard in this game and in my opinion desreved the call on the 3 pt. attempt at the end. But I only seen it on tv but I also watched the replay twice.

Congrats to Coach King and the Patriots on another good road win. Great game from Davis and Slone. Adams came thru with some 3 pt, shots at critical times in the game.

Good win for Mont. Co. on the road. The Indians put together a great 4th qtr. run. Congrats to the freshman and JV teams on their win as well.

question is why would you hire Tim Fraley to a position that needs someone to stay for awhile. Why has he been to so many places before? Why did he leave Greenup, they need to hire a young coach and has time and willing to stay for awhile to get the program where it needs to be. Fresh Blood new start because obviously what they had going on wasnt working. Someone who can come in and earn respect and get the kids believing. Bring in a coach who is not using it as a stepping stone

I am surprised to see Tim Parks name on this list. Thought he had found a home at June Buchanan. I Guess he and the Head man in the stands didn't work out. IMO does not have enough experience to fill this GC job. What happened to his promises he made to the students that transferred to the June Buchanan School to play basketball for him?

A few of the reasons. (1.) Better teaching position in public v.s. private schools.(2.) Better pay and better benefts.(3.) Chance to coach with and learn under an experienced and former State Tourny. winner in Coach Dave Fraley. (4.) Coach Cook was already familiar with a good percentage of the Knott Co. Central players coaching them in Freshman & J.V. when they were at June Buchanan before they transferred to K.C.C. An good example of this was when Coach Josh Cook's Knott Co. Central J.V. team won the Ky. State Boys Basketball Junior Varsity A.A.U. Champsionship in June, 2009 by Beating a very good Scott Co. team by a score of 49 to 47. How many young Coaches have added a Ky. State Championship title to their resume?

I have heard that Josh Cook, Head Assistant to Coach Dave Fraley at Knott Co. Central 14th Region Boys Champs and 2009 June Buchanan Head Boys Basketball Coach (record 18 wins and 8 losses) has been chosen for an interview on Monday 4/12. Young energetic Coach that really understands the game and can relate to his players. Would be a good choice for Grant Co. to bring a new face and someone with the energy to re-build this program.

From watching officials call games from Central Ky. to Eastern ky. two situations come to mind the most is when an official in the mid court position makes a call on a play down on the baseline in front of the official in the baseline position. Is this where they do not know their positions on the floor to make the proper calls or just to some , they are going to call the whole floor. IMO this is not being respectful to your fellow official in that position. Also , what ever happened to the 3-sec. lane violation? A call that this year you don't see much. Allowing a big post man to camp in the lane is a big advantage. Input welcome.

Master of Hardwood :isurrender:Sorry I was not trying to put down anyone, but stating a fact that I see as the truth and have a right to my on opinion. IMO the games at the Knott Sport Plex is a good place for some young refs. to better their experience. Then there such a thing as an obligation to their first prior for Varsity Refs. should be the High School games. Back off a little and don't take everything so personal. But again in your position maybe you can't.

At a game in the 14th Region last night, a crew of 3 officials called back to back Girls and Boys varsity Games. Which I have stated in the past about this pratice and the officials ability to properly call both games. But the situation was that there was a contact between two players that was a no call from the officials with one players injured with a cut lip and having to leave the game. The one ref. in front of the scores table talking to the coach about the know call and waiting for him to enter a sub. in the game, while his two fellow officials put the ball in play to the team that only had 4 players on the floor with the player driving the full lenght of the of the court and scoring a layup before a whistle was blown stopping play. The red faces and the looks on the 2 refs. were priceless. This goes back to the point of refs. calling back to back games. Fatigue does play a factor. Sorry for the lone post , but I had to make my point.Good luck to whom ever we trade refs. with for the Regionals.
