My daughter is a 7th grader. She played JV this past fall. The coaches were very conscious about not playing or even practicing her with any juniors or seniors. The coach didn't have enough players for JV. Not bragging but she is good. I was concerned about her playing JV. She held her own and actually excelled.

If things hold true to form in Mercer Co. we should know about May. Haven't heard any rumors or of applications submitted.

You haven't seen a lot of schools in the Middle School Playoffs. WC plays Scott Co., Clark Co., Franklin Co., and some Lexington middle schools. I know this year they won their "conference". They are very competitive nearly every year. Same with Mercer Co. I know in a span from 2007-2014 the middle school team was the conference champ 4 or 5 of those eight years. They went undefeated in 2007. I don't know what the answer is. I can't figure it out myself.

That is so old and tired. Mercer competed in the class that the KHSAA placed them in. Wouldn't hear anyone complaining if it were certain teams in the same boat.

Another one of those counties that has a very successful middle school program that, for some reason, doesn't carry on at the high school level.

I would love to have Marty or Josh Jaggers. I don't know if they would even think about it due to the way they were treated.

I really hate to hear this. I thought Mercer had finally found a good coach that would stay. There are several issues at Mercer that may never be solved. Admin is part of the problem. Not so much now as when Yates was still the principal. Parents and boosters are a big part of the problem. Many parents think their kid is the next big thing when most a merely decent high school players. The most disturbing is the climate of the players. There are some serious issues with some of the players that can't be discussed here. I feel for the players that are really trying to change things. Until the entire community buys in, there will never be support or success at Mercer.

I think they have Owensboro too low. I would say they are top 20.

I didn't say that. If the refs are going to call it, get it right. They administered the penalty wrong and screwed over a bunch of kids in the process. If you are a ref, you should know how to enforce a penalty correctly.

Show me one game where the coached stayed where they were supposed to the entire game.

My understanding from various reports is that the playoffs have been held up waiting on a ruling from the judge. Supposed to hear the case today.

Just read that a judge will hear the Oklahoma case tomorrow.

I hope he doesn't. Mercer needs some stability in the coaching. Pardue has been doing a good job. Most stability Mercer has had since Jaggers left.
