  1. Last week we were told by a source that "knew for a fact" that Yeast did not apply and did not show interest in the Bryan Station head coaching position. Today it is announced that he is the new head coach at Bryan Station. Weird!!!
  2. Well either you are misinformed KYPREMIER or LEX18 is wrong? I dont know which? All I know is that you say Yeast only applied for the Grant and Fairdale jobs. Yet LEX18 comes out two weeks ago with a story on the news and an article on the Internet about Yeast being a finalist for the Bryan Station job. I find it hard to believe that LEX18 would hype up Yeast being a finalist for the BS job the way they did if he didnt even apply for the job? Maybe BS approached Yeast and asked him to consider being one of the finalists without applying? I dont know?
  3. They announced on the news last night that BS had their 3 finalists and interviews were either this weekend or next week? I know 2 of the finalists were Criag Yeast and the Def Coor from this past season. I missed who the 3rd one was?
  4. 100% forced out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With this development Mercer and Coach Rains would be an option, I assume. If Rains can get the LCA band back together at Mercer then watch out!!!!!!!!!!
  5. After 1 year on the job at Taylor County Coach Cotton has been forced to resign. He is a very good coach and has had success every where he has been, including a state championship appearance at Henry Clay, a Midsouth Conference Championship at Georgetown College, and a state championship at LCA. Taylor should be ashamed to only give him one year on the job. This program has always been bad and with this show of spinelessness by the administration it will only get worse. Taylor is a bottom tier job and will take years to even build a solid foundation. Giving a coach 1 year is a joke. Even after posting a 1-9 record, I understand that the staff had 65 kids out for winter workouts and the kids were buying in and working hard. Those type of numbers and player effort speak volumes about the direction the program was going. This job may look somewhat appealing from the outside but do not be fooled. It is an awful job. Parents have unrealistic expecations of success and believe their student athletes should achieve this success without hard work. Obviously the administration has shown they are a bunch of yellow belly cowards. They can't stand up to pressure concerning the hire they have made. With Taylor moving in the district with Boyle, Lex Cath, Mercer, and Marion I don't think a quality coach would touch this job with a ten foot pole. I hope no one takes the job and the program crumbles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. First things first, congrats to all of the young men who made the AP All-State team!!! It is a great honor and Im sure every one of you deserves it!!! However, I find the "13 organizations or individuals" that vote on this team fairly ridiculous!!! You are telling me that there was not 1 football player in all of the Lexington area that was good enough to make any of the teams? Not 1 player from Lex Christ, Lex Cath, Henry Clay, Lafayette, Bryan Station, Dunbar, Scott Co or Clark Co that was good enough to make even honorable mention? I find that very very hard to believe!!! Heck, 2 OL in Lexington have signed with UK and 2 kickers off those teams have signed Div-1(1 of them Okla St, not sure about the other).
  7. LCA had a crew in round 3 that was from Southeast KY. One on the crew was from Hazard and several were from the Pikeville area. Considering LCA would be playing Hazard or Pikeville in the semi's that just doesn't seem right. What type of oversight does the KHSAA have. I have been told Julian Tackett the comissioner said there was no conflict. Since that crew threw Zach West out of the game you have to wonder...............
  8. There are several good officials in KY, but there are not enough good ones coming up through the ranks. So many bad call in the playoffs. I know it is a tough job, but sometimes you wonder if they are ignorant to the rules, just bad, or corrupt. I feel so bad for the West kid from LCA. Having to watch your teammates battle in the semi finals knowing you did nothing to deserve an ejection the previous game. That is awful. Unless kids are fighting and throwing punches and kicking each other you have to seperate them and just call off setting penalties. You have to wonder if the KHSAA even cares?
  9. What about Ray Graham? He comes in to LCA in July, after a head coach resigns who just won a state championship. Inherits a team that lost 17 seniors and 3 of them All-staters. Although everyone counted them out of the 1a race for most of the year he kept the team improving and was just seconds away from getting LCA back to the state championship game. I vote for Ray Graham.
  10. 6- Trinity 5- Christian Co 4- Boyle Co 3- Central 2- NCC 1- Hazard 56
  11. These two teams are evenly matched. Mayfield will not have a speed advantage on Hazard. In all other aspects I would say the teams are evenly matched as well. The only difference I see is that both basically breezed through their schedule, except that Hazard had to play an entire game and show some fortitude to get the win last week against a gritty and tough LCA team that many had counted out all year. Both defenses will be tested. I look for this to be one of the best games of the six and certainly don't see a blowout by Mayfield.
  12. Hazard scored and faked the extra point to get the 2-point conversion and the lead.
  13. Safety by Scott Co. 21-12 Male, 2 min to go in 3rd
  14. 14-13 John Hardin early in the 3rd. Had the score backwards in the last post.
