If the preseason rankings are anything I do not see the "Sleeping Giant" in the top ten..... I am pretty sure the Football knowledge of this site know more than some of us! I am just wondering when or if South will break the top ten. If they are going to be as good as some think then why no ranking? Just saying...

Well said. South will have their hands full with Monroe this year who is returning all but two starters. They will be second in district and get put out second in region. Just my opinion. They lost way to much on an already disappointing team that should have walked through 3a last year with the talent they had then. Not often khsaa hands a team the map to state and you get lost...

Wayne lost a major senior group, Belfry is always nocking, Bourbon is as always. But the little town down south in Monroe is where there they are feeding the livestock this year...Monroe is the sleeper with a massive amount of skilled players and all out tush hogs. And a great crouching staff to boot.

I agree with someone needs to move up as a playmaker. These boys have hit the weight room and are ready to follow the path laid by the Alumni to make a loud bang in the football world! It should be a very interesting season for the Might Falcons of Monroe!

As most of you know that knows anything about the Monroe County Falcons they are coming back this year only losing a few key players from the roster. All the linemen are juniors this year with the addition of second year starter "Mink" 6-6 365 as a sophomore. The line is big, and fast for the Falcons. The only problem with this is the Junior qb Arnett is only 5'10". He is on the path to break every school record at qb ever set in Monroe. He has a rifle attached to his shoulder and is better on the run than sitting in the pocket. Dangerous for aggressive teams! The great addition to the offense is 6-7 235lb senior Bennett at tight end. The back field is loaded with two returning starters that rotated out throughout the year with injuries and platooning last year. Both Phillips and Veach are capable of explosion through the secondary. And both are highly skilled with there hands in the spread offensive. The receiver core has returning starters on both ends with one winning his weight class and out lifting both classes above him in the Jonathan Witty lift-a-thon! The weight room has been these kids home for the last year. Defensively for the Falcons brings in a fresh set of linemen that played there share of minutes on both sides of the ball last year. The bookends are returning 6-7 defensive end and senior center Pickerell. The linebacker core is an aggressive group that only lost one starter from last year. Monroe has a new secondary look this year for that was their biggest weakness from last year. The athleticism in this young group is outstanding and my prediction for this class is very high.

I know I am bias but Monroe should do very well in 2A in 2015...

PT's fan base was also not there at the Monroe game. The Falcon fans outnumbered 2-1 with a three 1/2 hour drive. Very sad!!!

Really good game for the Blue Tornado!! They are a very solid 3a football team with IMO the best kicker I have seen at the high school level. I wish them well in the rest if the playoffs.

Correction on starting offense...7 sophomores, one freshman 6-5 325lb lineman, junior center, and the lone Huff at back. Senior running back Tanner Strode will return at tailback so senior backs and tight end. Monroe has three deep in backfield, with three with over 75 touches each.

I'm glad for the look ahead! I have not followed them this year but I know they have played some good teams. Looking forward to a good game.

Also coach P is a very good playoff coach able to reach deep in his play books and throw the kitchen sink at you... Don't be surprised what the young Falcons will come out and run!

Monroe is clicking at the right time of year but the long drive to the west might be distracting for these young Falcons. Obviously Paducah has played a tougher schedule and is always a threat year after year in 3a. What does everyone think?
