High scoring game Estill 46 Breathitt 35

These 2 teams are very similiar. Both teams running backs are VERY good, strong power runners. The difference is going to be in the air, Prestonsburg can pass and will. Corbin has not passed much and I have seen them in 2 games. Corbin's defense does not guard real good against the pass either. I thought the game was going to be played at P-Burg but it is not and this will also play a factor in the game. I am still sticking to my prediction and saying Prestonsburg by 7, but it could go either way, Prestonsburg's strength of schedule has to be a lot better than Corbin's and this is the reason I am going with P-Burg, they have played a lot of good teams this year, Corbin's schedule is pretty weak compared to that of Prestonsburg. Another factor, look at both teams compared to Middlesboro. Prestonsburg put 20 points on a very good Middlesboro defense, Corbin 14 points. Good luck to both teams because the roads keeps getting tougher each week and I hope one of these 2 teams make it to Louisville.

As a Bath Co. fan, it kills me to say this Prestonsburg by 14, 28-14.

I have got to add in some love for the Bath Co. players. By far, this is the most heart and effort that I had seen from this team all year, I do think the Bath Co. players wanted it more than Corbin last night. The score IMO is not justified for as good of a game that it was, games like this are normally 7 point games either way and it comes down to the last play of the game, did not happen that way tonight. Corbin fans, football is a rough sport. If you don't want to see hard hits and rowdy fans, then go play tennis. IMO, the refs did let everything get totally out of hands which did get the crowd fired up, which I must say were louder than Corbin's fan and they were the home team? To the seniors of the Bath Co squad, you guys played your heart out and you did leave it all on the field so you have nothing to hang your head in shame about, Corbin is a great ball team and the cards did not fall your way last night, as a Bath Co. fan I am very proud of the heart you guys showed last night. To the under classmen, I want to go to Papa Johns next year!

You better be ready for next week is all I am going to say, you guys will be whining real bad because I have a feeling a loss is headed your way and you have not seen rough yet, I can promise you that! We have played Prestonsburg for the last 2 years and they are much more physical than Corbin, and they can pass well. Be ready!

Odd and Even years to determine who has home field advantage when you have 2 #1 teams playing each other, that is why it is at P-Burg. Good luck to you guys there, I think Corbin's season is done, Prestonsbirg has to be one of the hardest places in the state to play. If you guys think the Bath Co. fans were rude and nasty last night, you have not heard anything yet.

Are you kidding me?????????? You obviously were not sitting on the same sideline as I was, there was cheap shots between these 2 all night long and the refs would NOT throw a flag either way! I seen the comment earlier that the refs should be banned from any other games and I agree, they let the pushing and shoving go way to far last night, the end of the 3rd qtr on they let the game get totally out of control! This was both ways, not #84. I can tell you if I was Joe Mabry (#84) and I took a cheap shot like he did when he was OUT OF BOUNDS and the play was OVER, they probably would have escorted me off the field because someone is going to get hurt in very few seconds.

We will all see tomorrow night. The starters were out the entire 4th qtr. I have no clue what happened on the first drive for Leslie Co., they were throwing a lot and I dont think we expected that, once it was figured out, you see where they got with it. NO WHERE! Our freshman did not even let them score. Lets agree to disagree, the temperature tomorrow night is going to play a factor for both teams, I still think it will be a game, what does Bath Co have to lose?

Snowing pretty good in Bath Co. too. I agree with you totally, if Bath Co. hangs around through the first half, watch out because there is a upset in the making. Slick roads or not, I would not miss it for the world!

Hank it looks like me and you are in the same place quite a bit, that Vandy game was cold but not that bad! Tomorrow night in Corbin will be one cold night. It will be fun, bundle up!

Thanks! I hope I am right! I really do think it will be a great game and it will depend on the defense that the Cats bring to Corbin. I think offensively we are as sound as Corbin, defense we can be. Both teams better be ready to play a full 4 quarters of football!:banana:

Where do you think Bath County is? Bath County is in Eastern KY, I have no clue why people think that they are not part of the Mountain Football group. They play the same physical hard nosed rushing game that all the mountain teams play.

You are correct, that was the loss where we had some key players injured. The officiating also did not help any in that game, there was bad calls both ways but mainly toward the visitor. You are exactly right, Corbin will be handful! They are very good program, but so is Bath Co. and everyone is counting them out. Bath Co. has went from a team that was not winning anything to a pretty good team!

Go ahead and count Bath Co. out! Thats what I would do! When Bath Co. played in 2 of the 3 losses they were without key players, this will make a difference, I promise you that! I don't think the Bath Co. fans and players are planning on driving over 2 hours to lay down because Corbin is supposedly this unbeatable team. I have said this once and I will say it again, any team can be beat on any given Friday night. Look at some of the games this week, who would have thought that Highlands would have almost got beat by Bryan Station, Simon Kenton over Lafayette? I think this will be a battle, but you can go ahead and count the Cats out, we like it that way!:thumb:

Congrats to Coach Whitaker and his sucess with the Pirates! Even though you guys lost, Powell Co. will be a team to deal with next year. Great turn around on this program.

Powell Co. 42 Taylor Co. 35, I have to go with Powell on this one, they are much improved this year.

I think its obvious that Ft. Campbell will come out of the Western KY region, but the East I think is a little up in the air. There is a lot of good teams from the mountains and anyone could beat anyone on any given night. Corbin is a great ball team without doubt and they do have home field advantage through out the playoffs, which is a plus, Corbin is a long bus ride for most of the teams. I think there is teams out there that are really hungry and have not had many chances in the playoffs that will comeout playing like a different teams in the playoffs, Bath Co., Prestonsburg, and Middlesboro are sleepers IMO. Newport Catholic and Prestonsburg have played really tough schedules and know how to play when it comes to big games against tough competition. Good luck to all the Eastern KY schools, I like seeing the gold come to the mountains!

and Williamsburg. and as far as you other post, I know this will be a tough game, Corbin may very well be your 2A State Champs. I cant wait to go to Corbin, it's been a while since Bath Co. has made it to the 2nd round off the playoffs, and win or lose, I am still very proud of what this program haas accomplished in the last 4 seasons.
