Change of scenery for coach. Seems like an odd fit but you never know. Got to hear him speak once at a clinic in Birmingham years ago about overcoming obstacles. He lost his daughter during a tornado that hit the school she was at about 10 years or so ago.

Coaches, I have resigned as Head Football Coach at Pulaski County High School. It’s been a wonderful 23 years (19 as Head Coach and 4 as Assistant) for me at Pulaski, and I have enjoyed getting to know, and competing against so many of you. I am honored to call you “friends.” I have been offered (and accepted) a position on the coaching staff at Georgetown College, under the direction of the legendary Coach Bill Cronin. It is with a lump of bittersweet that I am moving on to Georgetown College. It has been my honor to call myself a high school football coach for the last 31 years (4 at Palm Bay High School in Melbourne, Florida, 4 at Barren County, and the last 23 at Pulaski). You guys are what makes this profession so great. So many of you I have learned from, copied from, and studied, whether you knew it or not. Thanks for all you have done for me, and for making Kentucky High School Football so wonderful. I will miss it badly. I hope to see many of you in the near future, though it be in a different role, as I come to your school to recruit some of the fine young student-athletes that you all consistently turn out, to come join us at Georgetown in pursuit of the NAIA National Championship. I sent an email to 3 helmet reps today because of this thread and asked them the below question: "What is your recommended break in period for your helmet for players to get acclimated to it?" I have received responses from two of the three. Response 1 - "none, but most teams do 1-3 days" Response 2 - "a properly fitted helmet does not need a break in or acclimation period to the user."

Was Wallace still teaching? I didnt think he was, if no teaching spot with position, the 30 day rule doesnt apply.

Lets be clear the previous coach got the job in very late May or early June, because the previous coach failed to complete his certification to teach in KY and could not be rehired for the next year, he was already on staff. Not saying he didnt want the job, but it was a last minute hire to some extent.

Being its a new coach, new system, doesnt know the talent on the roster, in this cause, its a bigger deal than normal.

Pretty sure we had a few of those as well in basketball.

We travel over 2 hours to 2 of our district games back when there were 4 classes.

Possibly, better baseball player than football player if I remember correctly.

Dont forget Scott Co is getting split in half. Which means two really good Scott Co teams.

Very good might be a bit of a stretch for a team that hasn't made it to region championship game but once this decade.

I would be surprised to see a hire by spring break.
