Anyone see this game? What the heck has happened to CAL?

Jeffersontown 98 South Oldham 62
I was hoping my boys from South could have fared a little better.....
-
Trinity 62 Christian Academy-Louisville 44
Thought this game might be a little closer......

Moore 84 Fern Creek 83
I saw him play over the holiday's and he is the best player I've seen in the city. It's not even close. Not to take anything away from the other good players. He is in a league of his own.

Jeffersontown
Rankings don't mean a whole lot at this point. That's why they play the games.....Jtown really has their work cut out for them with that schedule...then again all teams in the 7th region play tough schedules. Whoever comes out of that region will be a tough out in Rupp.

Jeffersontown
Not familiar with Anderson Co, Owen or Simon, but CAL can play with any of these teams....They are better than you think. None of these teams will be real contenders though....which is why I started the post about Jtown....are they really top 5?

Jeffersontown
What I meant to say was I thought Atherton was suppose to be better. I like CAL and agree they would contend in the 8th. I think they have a couple of kids who could play with anyone in the 7th region. But Jtown is ranked in the top 5 and I would have expected more, even with Cosby not playing.

Jeffersontown
Anyone seen these guys play yet this year. I saw they put 113 pts up against Atherton. But then only beat Christian Academy by 11, scoring in the 50's. I know CAL has a couple kids that are pretty good, but I would think they are about the same as Atherton.......

Biggest Sleepers in 6th and 7th
Don't disagree......just don't hear Little get mentioned alot.

Biggest Sleepers in 6th and 7th
I have to agree. I think Seneca in the 7th will surprise and be right there at the end. Is Maddox playing? Who are some of the other players on the outside of the top ten? Gunter at X? Little at Trinity? In the 6th - Thornsberry at Desales?

Biggest Sleepers in 6th and 7th
Who are the biggest sleepers in the 6th and 7th Regions?

Euton and Jackson ruled eligible
This is a complete joke....anyone who doesn't think this is an obvious move based on athletics is crazy. Don't forget the Flannery kid as well.....all three have played together for 5+ years....

7th Region 2008/2009
Great post Crimson. You are obviously very familiar with the 7th region. I think this region will be loaded for the next 2 years.

Who are the Dark horse players of Metro Louisville for 08'/09' season
Forgot about Little and Blakemore....both will be big factors with their respective teams.....

Who are the Dark horse players of Metro Louisville for 08'/09' season
I think we'll be hearing alot from these guys: Wyatt Gray (ST X) - played alot as a soph Sean Samsel (Manual) - good shooter, I think benefits if Jenkins stays Thornsberry (Desales) - had some big games as a soph Chris Dowd (Eastern) - very good athlete Collin Lopez (CAL) - been watching this kid since he was an 8th grader, can fill it up and will be a big time scorer Tim Henderson (CAL) - very athletic and very hard to stop going to the basket Antonio Bryant (Iroquois) - I've only seen him once, but was impressed

All A Classic contenders ... 2009
Can anyone confirm if they went to the top 125 or not? I think that changes things considerably. Desales would be in, Christian Academy of Louisville would be in, who else??? Just adding Desales and CAL make it a better tourney.

All A Classic contenders ... 2009
I had heard that they changed the way teams are considered eligible for the All A. The bottom 125? get in.....so competition will be a little tougher. Teams like Desales and Christian Academy of Louisville will be eligible out of the 6th and 7th regions.....both teams have to be considered if that is true.

7th Region 2008/2009
Jenkins does work hard. Who will be the best players in the region? Alot of good players graduated......

7th Region 2008/2009
Great insight Crimson......Jtown should definitely be strong. I think the darkhorse is CAL. Watched them a couple of times last year - played Jtown to wire in Districts, Manual/Seneca close, beat Trinity and Moore. Have two underrated sophs coming back in Lopez and Henderson. Also like X to bounce back if young guys can develop. Also, Manual's Jenkins is coming to South. Big blow to them.
