  1. You are a good supporter, all teams need the kind of positive support that you give the warriors. You too are a real fan.
  2. After further review there are still other games to be played before the district is decided. PC still one game to go against Rock at Rock, one of their earlier games against rock was in a tournament and did not count. Still looks as if SHS will have to get the three seed to play PC in the first round. I don't look for PC to be Rock at their gym. But who know that is why they the games. The district championship is still up for grabs in the 47th, much like the district with Boyle, Danville, and Lincoln. I still say that McCreary is an easy favorite and West is the pick in their district, with Mercer on their heals. Where is that District tournament being played?
  3. I think the story would be better if they bypassed each other in the first round and played in the district finals. If thinks hold true to form based on records right now that is where they would have to meet. Rock has the number 1 seed and PC the number 2. Casey and Somerset will be playing for the 3 and 4. If SHS beats Casey on Thursday, the PC games looms big. Could come down to a coin toss if PC wins. Or SHS creats a first rd match up with PC if they can win both district games at home. SHS loses to Casey on thrusday then the distric matches are set. I agree with you on the SWHS - Wayne Co. Like i said in the beginning, i see it as any given day situation. I just dont think that SWHS is strong enough to compete with McCreary in the finals.
  4. Just the kind of bulletin board material that will keep Watts and company on there toes, becareful what you wish for.
  5. I think Boyle has them covered, just need to keep Gavin in check.
  6. Rock plays Casey tomorrow night also, that may shed a little more light on the seeding in the 47th district. Come on 12th region fans share your thoughts.
  7. McCreary took care of SW tonight at the reservation. Pretty much sets the district match ups. McCreary v. Monticello and SW v. WC. MC should have them all covered. Again the SW v. WC is still a toss up. Wayne will be the favorite regardless of who gets the number 2 seed.
  8. With district play about half over, let's see those district predictions. Here are mine below: 45th District: Boyle should come out in the top spot, but Danville is a strong wild card for an upset if they make it to the finals. The second spot is between Danville and Lincoln. 46th District: I am going with West to repeat, some may call this an upset as Mercer looks strong. My Pick is West-1, Mercer-2. 47th District: Who Knows? Any thing can happen is this district. Rock should be the favorite. Casey may have the advantage with the home court in District play. If SHS finds some late season help they could be a wildcard. PC is right in the thick of things. 48th District: Baring any unforseen upsets, Watts, Dixon, and Roark should lead MC to the District and Region Championship. WC - SW to close to call, it is an any given sunday situation with them.
  9. Hey Purple Pride, you seem like the only other person on here willing to talk 12th Region. What happened to all the 12th Region Followers. Lets see if we can get some district talk started. I will start a thread with my choice for the district winners and see if we can get a little chatter going.
  10. Based on WC performance last week, and the return of Dixon to McCreary's line up I would say MC by 15.
  11. Well it looks if these rankings are sleeping on a talented baller down in the 12th region for the second year in a row. The Gover kid probably had the most or close to it Varsity experience as a 8th grader and perfromed well. Has also performed well against everyone listed in the top four over the years. Do you all think he just quit playing! Give the kid some respect, don't worry he will earn it. And Comes from a Basketball Family.
  12. You are absolutely correct, it would be nice if every Kentucky BB athlete had the opporunity that the few have. With that being said the Lexington Blaze/Charlotte Court Organization does an outstanding job making the opportunity available for kids from Lexington that otherwise may not have the opportunity. As fare as makeing it to the Sweet 16 that is easier said than done. Obviously just 16 teams in the State advance to play at RUPP. There is about 16 teams in each region, so basically 12 athletes out of 170 in each region get to perform in front of the scouts. Alot of kids from our area get passed on for this reason. I agree you have to be responsible for marketing your own child and getting his name out there. For that reason I think that the KHSAA needs to revist one of there rules. As a parent I cannot take my male athlete to any camps or showcases in the fall of the year if they are going to play competitive games there. If they go participate they risk being turned in and being disqualified from a high school game. They have to sit one game for every infraction, which hurts there teams. This rule does not apply to female athletes. First of all what happened to Title 9 in this case? Second of all Kentucky athletes are missing out on opportunities and parents have less say so about what there children do. I would like to know the KHSAA reasoning for this rule.
  13. I am not taking anything away from anyone listed above. But the fact of the matter is that alot of this has to do with who you (the parents) align yourself with over the summer, participation in certain camps, your region, and your geographical location. The Gover boy who is at PC now, and played in 22 Varsity games last year for Somerset, scored 80 point and shot 89.7% from the charity stripe, and 36% outside the arch (as an 8th grader). I know he has faced Sanders and Morton on more than a few occassions over the last few years at KBA and in other tournaments, And I would be willing to bet that Gover came out on the winning side of the matches more times than not. There is some pretty good talent south of Lexington and west of I-75. Other player in the 12th region who are not getting the attention they deserve are seniors Polson and Watts, and sophmore Townsend. Not everyone attends The Blue Chip Camp or plays in the 11th Region.
  14. Well the Eppersons Twins, Lewis, Marlow, Merrick are still there. They lost Alan Williams, Zack Turpin. I am not sure of the 7th person whom you are referring to. The Eppersons will make them faily solid, and will get the Varsity time this year. Cody is good and consistently improving. People from around the program tell me Justin is getting better. Marlow and Merrick is not really ready to help them at this point. Marlow is pretty much a designated shooter. The loss of Alan Williams probably had the most impact on that group. Lewis is not as dominant down low as he used to be, in the 8th grade. I think Turpin gave it up to concentrate on baseball, and he also is the starting QB on the FB team.
  15. I did like your post. There have already been some interesting developments in the 12th region. Especially down around the 48th district, with lost that PC has had. They lost there senior PG for the season, and appear to be without Jenkins for a substantial amount of time. That 8th grade class at SW is not all together any longer, I think have lost two members of that team. (are they 47th?). That district goes through McCreary, I don't dont beleive Dunagun and company can sneak in and steal it. Somerset experienced the loss of two guards, a junior to a knee injury during soccer and the freshman (coach's nephew) in a transfer to PC. Rumors out there that Derek Thacker was not going to play his senior year at Rock. With tip off right around the corner, still looks like a McCerary V. WJ showdown. Any other 12th region fans out there but Purple Pride and I.
  16. I just think it is good to get a little friendly chit chatter on the 12th Region, about 5 weeks away from tip off.
  17. To bad Danville and Somerset does not play in the regular season. Might make for a exciting All A Classic game. That Advocate Messanger may have put a target on Taylor, while adding fuel to the fire leaving Townsend out of the top ten in region. We may see to point guards put on a scoring clinic. Anyone have any comments on who they will give the edge to defensively.
  18. :thumb: I like this post, should be an exciting and interesting year in the 12th region. Remove the two front runners and anything can happen. Cats Paws ranked Casey in the top ten any comments on that?
  19. I would put a plug in for the point guard from Somerset(DJ Townsend), started as a Freshman down there in the 12th Region, avg 12 pts per game, rebounded well, and solid defender. Had a outstanding summer both AAU and HS. I have seen him play against several players on this list and I am sure if you ask some of them what they think, they would fit him in the top 20. I personally think that the 12th region get a lack of respect. Keep an eye open this year, he is a very talented player. There is also a guard from Henry Clay, (Wesley?) that played with Hoop Dreams, that you might want to consider when compiling a list. Adam Wing from Rowan County another freshman starter that had a solid season and made top 30 at Blue Chip.
  20. They are going to need a good supporting cast to help Townsend. They have a couple of Juniors that can step up and have good nights, they need to bring it night in and night out.
