  1. match ups are set now anyone have any perdictions? Districts really are evenlly paired right now for the most part, so they will be hard to pick. But unless McCeary has a blow out of some sort, look to see them reprsenting the 12 Region in the Sweet 16. Good Luck to Coach Jones and his team, It will be nice to see Watts get an opportunity to play on the big stage.
  2. I am going out on a limb saying McCreary and Wayne in the finals. SW may have a difficult time beating Wayne three times this season.
  3. I don't think it is the fans that will overlook anyone, the teams need not overlook their opponents, Rowan appears to be very competitive with all those teams based on the way they are playing. Good Job Rowan and keep it up.
  4. Congratulation on both accomplishments 3000 career points and the nomination. It is well deserved.
  5. I think we got the official notice that Boyle did receive the number one seed, pitting them against Garrad. Barring a big upset they should be in the finals. The Danville - Lincoln game should be good, Lincoln still has the edge although Danville will be at home. Just need to keep Taylor and Elmore average. Another big Match up is SWHS v. Wayne County. Seems so far that SWHS has Wayne's number, wonder if those cardnials can fly past the warriors in the open round. Next week is set to be interesting in the 12th.
  6. Are the district matchs all set in stone at this point. 45th Boyle v. Garrad and Danville v. Lincoln 46th West v. Burgin and Mercer v. East 47th Rock v. Casey and PC v. SHS 48th McHS v. Monticello and Wayne v. SWHS Looks like things could be interesting with West thumping Wayne last night, SHS playing Wayne tough on Tue, PC handing it to SWSH last night, Lincoln v. Danville was not close. The 12th region my not be the stongest region of BB but could be some competitive games starting the 22nd. Any one want to change there pick?
  7. That is a good game, I am sure no one exptected Rowan to keep it that close.
  8. I agree with the folks who said we would like consistent calls being made, and I wish this was accross regions. I primarily watch the 11th, 12th, and 13th regions. The 11th and 13th both let you play a much more agressive style of defense. And that is fine as long as both team are allowed to play in that manner. In the 12th region they appear not to allow you to play an agressive in your face defense. Teams from that region appear to go into games looking for fouls that they don't get when they play outside. the 12th. I don't think with most the question is about them being good or bad, they all just need to as consistent as possible in how they call the game...
  9. Casey has the 4th seed in the 47th. If there is a 1 v 4 upset it could be there. Rockcastle is definitly the favorite, but Casey will be at home and the are very dangerous when the 3 is falling. They have several who can shoot the 3 very well.
  10. Somerset let them back in the game, along with the pretty good 3 pt shooting. They should ahve won by 15 plus.
  11. I agree with this statement. Should be a good regional tournament. Are all the district seeds determined? PC looks to make things interesting in the 47th they gave Rockcastle all they wanted on Thursday. I guess we will find out next friday if Somerset can give PC a challenge in that opening round match up. The game next week will decide who is the 2 and 3, which really doesnt matter since the district is at Casey.
  12. There is a Freshman at Pulaski County names Taylor Gover, that shoots the ball well from beyond the the 3pt line, he will continue to get better.
  13. Coach Jones scheduled some quality games outside of the region that helped prepare this team as well as get Watts the basketball attention he deserves.
  14. How about Thursday's SHS - Casey game, SHS took game one over in Rebel territory in OT.
  15. I suppose you did but you had the PC - Russel game about right.
  16. True as well, But again you have to look at what your focus is. Are you truley trying to get your athletes exposure in front of the scouts or are you trying to make sure you win ball games. I understand there is a little of give and take in that. You want to make it to Sunday when the scouts are around to see those finals with what is supposed to be the best. But in the early games when some of those smaller school D1 scouts are watching, you may be hurting a kid that may need that floor time for exposure. I see it both ways. I just hope these programs and coaches do what they do for the kids and not to necessarily add up W's. The concept is supposed to be to help these kids get to the next level.
  17. I agree, but again only five of them can play at a time. We should be trying to get as many kids as we can in our state that type of exposure that those games bring. Whats the since in having four of five the state better players playing behind ballers of equal talent. There are alot of teams at those tournaments looking to get to the late rounds on Sunday, too many all stars on one team could mean less floor time for exposure for some of those kids then all they get out of it is the medal.
  18. If someone wanted to put together another HS all star team to compete with them and work out the logistics, it is possible to put together a team to compete with them. Other than winning the State AAU championship I think it kind of defeats the purpose of kids playing summer ball, you can only put five of them on the court at one time.
  19. Thanks for the 12th Region chatter, lets see if we can get some, Lincoln, Boyle, Rock, Casey, PC, SHS, East, West, Mercer and Danville faithful to weigh in on the conversation. Seems like SW, Mc Co, and Wayne is the dominant topic. Does anyone know if SWHS and SHS is going to make the game up they missed? SHS looked better v. Danville, does anyone have any opinions on that game.
