  1. Looks like he's going to the Vikings. And on National Signing Day. Does this have any impact? It has to, doesn't it?
  2. Hue Jackson has chimed in on this, and someone associated with his foundation says they have paperwork to prove the Browns did the same thing.
  3. Bengals going with the black jerseys, white pants, orange stripes and orange socks.
  4. He respects the hell out of Tomlin, so I don't think he'd mind playing for him. But, whether Pittsburgh is on his desired destinations or not, I don't know. Deshaun Watson would be another big name, but there's a lot of baggage attached, obviously, and I don't know if the Rooney family would be willing to take that big of a swing on something that's still unknown.
  5. I don't know who it'll be, but I can't see them going forward with either Rudolph or Haskins. Not in the same division as Burrow and Jackson, and the possibility of a return to the 2020 Baker Mayfield. The QB draft class is pretty weak this year, so I doubt they get anyone of significance there. So, maybe someone like a Marcus Mariotta?
  6. With Big Ben officially retiring today, the Steelers are on the clock to find a replacement in the next 8 months or so. Who do you think it'll be?
  7. Everybody probably assumed this was going to happen. But, it's become official now. Breaking: Ben Roethlisberger Announces Official Decision (msn.com)
  8. Actually, I believe you and @Carl Spackler are both wrong. It is actually a committee from the HOF that comes up with the ballot itself. The BBWAA simply vote on what is given to them by said committee. The HOF committee are the ones who came up with the rule back in '91 that said any player banned from baseball (by MLB) would not be eligible to be put on the ballot. This was done specifically for Rose. That's why he's never been on the ballot, but Bonds, Clemens, etc. have been. The end results may have been the same (not getting into the HOF), but the routes they took were definitely different.
  9. After hearing/reading several proposals for how to handle overtime, I'm going to propose my own hybrid model. 1) As much as I hate ties...to save wear and tear on bodies, there'd be no overtime in the regular season. Perhaps we'd see some teams more likely to go for 2, if they score late, and really need the W. It'd also eliminate teams burning the clock under two-minutes, and "playing for overtime", just because they're pinned deep in their own territory. 2) In the playoffs, overtime is not treated as a "new start". There is no coin toss, there is no choosing directions, etc. And in some situations, there'd be no kickoff. After a brief pause (3 minutes?), you'd simply resume play where it ended in the 4th quarter. Basically it'd be the same thing as going from the 1st to 2nd, and the 3rd to 4th quarter. (If you want to change directions, so be it. That's not a big point for me.) 3) You'd play for a 10-minute period. Whoever has the lead at the end of the 10 minutes, wins the game. If for some reason you're still tied, continue with the features from part 2, and you move to sudden death.
  10. Something that's not getting talked about today, which somewhat surprises me, is the non-call for taunting on Tyrek Hill on his touchdown play. Let me be clear upfront...I think the rule flat-out stinks and is 100% stupid. That being said, how does the NFL say that Hill's "peace" sign was not directly aimed at the Bills' defender? I am glad it was not called, but how can the league defend the rule when they don't enforce it in the most critical situations.
  11. I think I read where they are not allowing tickets to be transferred outside of 24 hours of kickoff. Don't know how that works, logistically, but I understand the intent. If a Titan ticketholder is looking to make a buck off of selling their tickets (naw...that, never happens, right?)...then their prospective buyers are probably going to be much closer to Nashville, and not have to make travel plans...and thus, be more likely be a Titans fan.
  12. They had already played Pittsburgh and New England during the regular season, so I'd guess the primary focus was on the Bengals/Raiders game.
  13. Little tidbit I just heard... Mike Vrabel is 4-0 after a bye week. He's also 8-0 when he's had more time to prepare than his opponent.
  14. Even without Henry, I'm worried about the matchup. Vrabel would love for it to be down and dirty in the trenches. They've still got D'Onta Foreman who rushed for 100+ yards in 3 out of their last 6 games down the stretch, plus Dontrell Hilliard who can contribute as well. I fully expect a 3-headed monster, with those two and Henry, getting 35+ rushes by the time it's all said and done. We need Burrow and the boys to score early and often, to try to get the Titans out of that ground-and-pound mentality. Otherwise, I think Tennessee just leans on our thin DL all day long...which could make it a really long day.
  15. Have not seen anything yet on Tupou. Saw where Jesse Bates said he texted Geno Atkins, but hadn't heard anything back. The Bengals did bring back guard Xavier Su'a-Filo back to the active roster, so a little help for the O-line maybe.
  16. DT Larry Ogunjobi placed on IR today. Will probably need a few days to find out about Trey Hendrickson.
  17. Unfortunately, this is a game that, at full strength, I would love our chances. But, the way our D-line is looking at this point in time, this one may be painful. We may not be able to force Tannehill to throw, because the Titans may be getting 5 or 6 yards a pop. Tennessee could easily end up with a 2:1 time of possession.
  18. Honestly, @nWoI didn't even know these things existed until probably about 4 or 5 months ago. Guess I've been living under a rock. Did you still have juice left in it after 30 minutes?
  19. Good grief, looking at the NAM model (and living in NKY), that system's got more movement than a Fernando Valenzuala screwball.
  20. @John AnthonyI saw the other day they had "promoted" Brian Hartline to passing game coordinator (along with still being the WR's coach). Did they have someone in that position before, or was it just created in an effort to get BH some extra cash or a higher title on recruiting visits (not that he really needs the latter, as he's been killing it as-is.)
  21. That's the way college football does it. Take 4 from anywhere. If you want 4 teams from the NFC, that's fine. If you want to take just the AFC North, you could.
  22. Pretty sure NBCSN folded up shop at the end of 2021. I get a message on my TV saying the sports from there has been moved to USA and CNBC.
