Elliott is 1-1 v top 10. Eastern is 3-1 v top 10. Holmes is 3-2 v top 10. Tough to put EC in front of either of those two when they both have more top 10 wins as well as more quality wins.

You really think there's 7 teams in KY better than Holmes? I highly doubt it. With or without the loss to Boone, they are a top 2-3 team in the state.

Just realized tomorrow is senior night for Holmes which might mean the game will get a later start than 7:30.

Covcath needs to make it their basketball if they want to end their season at BOK Center and not Holy Cross....With Shover out, Covcath just doesn't have good enough outside shooting to play out on the perimeter the way they do. They need to realize their strengths are down low with the big men and penetration from the guards which creates high percentage shots around the rim.

Only year that I can remember them going undefeated in the late 90's was 97/98 when they were 8-0 at home. Anyone know the all time record for most consecutive games won at home in the 9th region? I seem to remember Covcath having a pretty impressive streak from I think 03/04-05/06?

That's pretty impressive. I'd be interested in knowing how many top 25 teams that SV has beat during that span at home. Regarless, 55 straight at home is an impressive streak.

I was just looking through the KHSAA site and noticed that Holmes currently has won 30 straight games at home. Since 06/07, they are 33-1 playing at Evans Fieldhouse, with their only loss coming to Holy Cross on Jan 12, 2007 in OT. What other teams currently have a long winning streak or have pretty impressive home records over the same time frame? (past 3 years)

No disrespect to Conner, but no way they beat Holmes at Holmes. If the game were being played at Conner I might agree with you, but honestly I don't think anybody in nky or the state for that matter would beat Holmes on their home floor. This was also the game that Rice, Jefferson, Henderson, Arnold, and several bench players didn't play.

Trust me, I could care less about the Cantrall and Litkenhouse ratings. I was just responding to cat fan's comment about Holmes should be punished for a loss to a top 10 team on the road. You have to look at the overall body of work, and honestly Scott Co is the only team in the state with a more impressive resume than Holmes.

Well using that theory then, Elliott shouldn't be ahead of Shelby Valley because of their loss to them in the All "A"...it's only fair..right?

I'm not going to get on here and bash this school or that school about where they're ranked, but I will say that Holmes being #8 is an absolute joke According to Cantrall's rankings, Holmes is 6-2 against the top 25, including wins over both Scott Co and Ballard who are ahead of them. I believe Scott Co is the only team in the state with more top 25 wins this year. Holmes opponents have combined for a 382-229 record. No other team in the state has played a schedule whose opponents have combined for that many wins to date. McCreary Central is the only team that comes close with 366. These ratings are the reason computer polls are looked down upon so much.

I'd probably give GRC the advantage at the guard position off the bench but give FC the advantage down low off the bench.

Smith transferred to Holmes without ever seeing a minute of varsity ball...therefor he was ruled eligible. Edmondson left Holmes after his junior year and was ruled eligible because of "special circumstances" that can't be discussed on BGP due to the rules.

I'd imagine either there or Ryle.

Yea. I believe Arnold was the only starter from that championship game still around their senior year. Young quit after his junior year, Smith transferred to Newport his sophomore year, Covington quit after his freshman year to focus on football, and I'm not sure whatever happened to their starting point guard.
