Ballard has struggled against bigger teams this year, and GRC by no means is small. If GRC comes in with a game plan to pound the ball inside to Zollo to draw double teams, leaving Hatton and Stenzel wide open outside, I really like the Cards. If they try to run with Ballard, I see them struggling. With that said: GRC 71 Ballard 68

What if just the district championships were held there? That might not be a bad idea. Have all of the district semi's at the host schools around NKY during the week, then have the finals for both girls and boys on Fri, Sat, and Sun.

I agree....but assuming they both make it, it's going to be awfully hard to knock either off. Scott Co's seniors have already tasted one championship on top of having the motivation to get revenge for their only loss to a KY team (Holmes). Holmes senior class would be making their 3rd straight trip to Rupp and have a bad taste in their mouth from coming up short two years in a row, losing in the semi's their soph year and finals their junior year. Anything can happen, but people can't deny that those two are probably the favorites heading in, as long as both make it out of the district and region tourneys. After those two, I'd put Elliott or Shelby Valley as the next heavy favorite to cut down the nets. :thumb:

Here's a question....with region being held at BOK Center, would it be smart to just move all district tourneys there as well to take away home court advantage in the districts too?

Very true...but it would be up to HC and not either Beechwood or Covcath. Like you said, doubtful that it happens, but just thought I'd throw the idea out.

I can guarantee they wouldn't do that this year if it were their turn to host...

Very true. Boone will have to beat either Heritage or Cooper to get in to the region tourney.

I personally have no problem with the districts being held at HC. I don't think it's going to help them either way. I wouldn't say home court advantage is that important in this rivalry anymore. Holmes has won by an average of 23 ppg the past two times they've played HC at HC. (56-37; 56-29) The only problem I see is the amount of fans that will likely be turned away for the district championship. It was a smart move by HC though to move the Beechwood/CCH game to the first game of the night rather than second. IF HC loses in the first round to Holmes, any chance they move the district championship to Holmes to try and get a bigger gate?

Holmes should dominate on the glass, like you said. As far as dunks, 5 sounds like a good number to me. SK has only really been down the past two years. In 06/07 they were a legit region title contender and in the early 00's they had some pretty good teams with the Stowers boys, Brock, and Kannady.

Why does it really matter whether I list that or not? Who cares? If it doesn't matter to you or a few others, why feel the need to question someone else about it? IMO him having that many dunks against a good team shows he had a good game against them and was getting high percentage shots.

Doesn't a dunk help fire up your team and the crowd? I doubt very seriously a kid is thinking "I'm going to show everyone I can play D1" before a dunk. :lol:

I agree completely. As far as HC being offered Holmes gym for districts, free of charge, why would they not take that? Especially when they're going to profit more from having much larger crowds? It's not like the homecourt advantage would be taken away. HC is a hop, skip, and jump away from Holmes and they would actually draw more fans with it being held there.

I think Henley will use this game to work on a lot of things to gear up for Tuesday night. I'd expect to see them press a lot which will lead to a lot of easy shots and turnovers for the Dogs. Holmes 72 SK 47

Holmes travels to SK Friday night for the Pioneers' senior night. Holmes comes in 26-2 after beating Conner 72-50. SK comes in 7-15 after a loss to Covcath, 68-55. Doubt this one will be very close, thoughts?
