  1. It has been estimated by the FBI that yearly 1.5-2.5 million crimes of all types are stoped by guns.
  2. So many people think that it will just never happen to them. But talk to anyone that it has happened to and they will tell you just how totally helpless they felt.:sssh:
  3. Latest stats on crime reported by your Government : a violent crime takes place every 22 seconds !How many ticks of the clock does it take for your turn to come up ?
  4. Lucky was just that ! I knew a person who was not so lucky. His house was broken into, his dog stabbed and killed and he was cleaned out by two knife carrying thugs. He said he would have something for them the next time. He was just very fortunate to get a second chance.
  5. The people that make the laws want us to be labeled paranoid ! That just makes it easier to get the laws changed. It's easy for them to label us, considering they travel with five or six guys with full automatics under their coats !
  6. So with 22000 laws , just 10 or 15 more will catch the criminals ? WOW we're getting closer !:thumb:
  7. I honestly believe that some people think more laws are the answer simply because they want to believe in our government administration. They still don't think our government will lie to us. I personally don't care which party is in charge at the time, they will all skew the facts to get what they want. The new administration has caused gun sales to rocket to an all-time high in the last four months. :thumb:
  8. By the way, the new administration had posted their new gun law plans on Obamas website a few weeks ago , it was only there for two days . It caused so many responses they had to remove it. Now they will just try to slide it by.
  9. Well, that was the same question that was ask by the people of Australia, just before they had their guns taken. The same lady that headed that venture(and I can't remember her name) has met with Hillary several times about how they did this. Almost every person appointed by Obama has had previous experience in gun ban issues. You have to admit it looks fishy.
  10. Rockmom, you have every right to your thoughts on this issue and I respectfully aknowledge your right. I would ,however like to remind you that gun registration has only been in use for 40 years in the US. So that tells me that there are millions upon millions of firearms unregistered in this country. Some of which are full autos and high capacity weapons intended for use in war . So any attempt to register future purchases will have little to do with criminal activity in the future. I believe there were only less than 7% of Australia's firearms turned in under the countrys buy back program and they spent untold millions to make that happen. The bottom line is criminals will always find a way to get a gun. If they can get a piece of pipe and a drill they can make one in fifteen minutes. Anyone, feel free to help me understand how these new gun laws will help.
  11. ^^ Well , you would think our "law makers", (and this is people that have trouble getting to their cars after dark), could come up with better ! They must be scared to death.
  12. I really don't know why they haven't thought of this one : just create a new law that requires anyone that has used a firearm in commission of a crime , or intends to use a firearm in any illegal manner to turn in their firearm ASAP ! Or at least , have them come in for finger printing so they can be properly dealt with after they commit a crime ! Oh yea, finger print anyone that purchases duct tape for illegal purposes too !
  13. Obama said just yesterday that "we were aware of this issue prior to his appointment , and it was clearly an honest oversite". You know he wouldn't make a statement like that if it wasn't true !:thumb:
  14. RTS, I am so very happy that many of mine are pre 68.... if you know what I'm refering to.!!
  15. We all have noticed how quick some in our government are to smirk at the NRA, BUT did you know that most every Firearms Instructor in every department that falls under the DOJ requires their instructors to be NRA certified. Also most states require concealed carry holders be certified through an NRA instructor. It hasn't been to many years ago that gun safety instruction was available in our schools through our state conservation officers. Even the mention of "GUN" in a school now is not politically correct. We currently have over 22000 (TWENTY TWO THOUSAND) gun laws on the books , I would love to see them use these laws against All illegal activity. We really do not need any more gun laws.
  16. Almost every person that has been appointed in the last thirty days to any Govt. position has had prior dealings with anti gun laws. You had to know it was coming !! Wonder why the Government did not publish the latest findings concerning states with concealed carry compared to states without it ?? Was it because states WITH concealed carry watched their crime and murder rates decline , while the others had an increase ?............ That is exactly why ! You would think they would have twisted it somehow, Thats what they usually do !! On another note , I am sure you have all heard about all the "illegal gun show sales". If that has in fact happened, someone has broken the law. An individual cannot purchase a firearm either in state or out of state without doing the paper work AND having a background check run first. If the show is out of state a person may not take posession of the purchase , it must be delivered to the state of residense to a FFL holder for transfer from and to the seller and buyer. I LIKE GUNS:thumb::thumb:
  17. Several regional rematchs in the next two weeks may cause a complete shake up, other than Elliott Co. at #1. Should know more about Bath Co., Rose Hill , Russell, and more.
  18. No doubt , that great big bullseye is on them. I would like to see them bring that big trophy back, but there is always that chance they won't get out of the 16th. Thats why they toss it up. Who knows ? :idunno:
  19. I think that most teams do better as underdogs, but having watched Elliott Co. play several games the last three years I don't think it will make them play any harder. They play hard from start to finish. I really enjoy watching them play because they have that special chemistry that only happens in small schools once in a long while. We all know they have a shot at the state finals BUT we also know that over the years there have been MANY good teams that have been knocked out early. You have to get a few breaks to get to the finals.:thumb:
  20. He probably didn't watch the same game we did LRCW ! I thought both teams played their hearts out. Russell was just ahead when the final horn sounded. I know I got my moneys worth. Great game to watch in front of a very big crowd. Big Big win Merle , nice job boys !:thumb:
  21. Emanuel on guns , for one, and that one goes way back. But I don't really want to beat a dead horse either. Everyone has their own opinion. I guess time will tell. Merry Christmas .
