  1. Simple solution : make the training available to those interested and have a signed permission slip from their parents. It is not unuasual for a child to want to know about firearms. I would think you may be able to help some of them understand the seriousness of using one. I own many, and have used them since nine or ten years old. Also have seen several adults make mistakes with them in training and in the field. I thank my father for teaching me early. I know it is up to me to be sure MY firearms are used in a safe manner no matter who has posession of them. I have seen mistakes made on the fireing line with full autos being used by" trained "professionals, so you can never be too careful with firearms. I personally never depend on someone else for gun safety , I would even get on one end or the other of the line to try to eliminate having to watch people on both sides of me. I think they need the training if they are going to be around guns. It's not for everbody but I still enjoy hunting and shooting ! West Virginia may want to lower their fees for out of state fishing and hunting , that may increase their revenue !!
  2. I have had really good luck with e-bay. You can usually get last years driver for half or even a third of new price. Sometimes I will buy demos for fifty to one hundred dollars , maybe get two or three and try them out and keep the best one and sell the others back on e-bay.You may want to go to Dicks and try some of last years. There are some good ones such as adams 460 , srixon bul, taylor made ,that you can buy very cheap. They may not be as good as top brands talked about earlier , but you may be surprised !
  3. Seems like when you grove a misque , mental or mechanical ,it is hard to get rid of sometimes ! I was just trying to give him something else positive to think about , so he may just forget what ever is causeing the "yips" .;)
  4. Nothin like crow.....unless it's on your plate !:fire:
  5. For me it's usually hosel rockets that pop up from time to time and they are really a pain. The way I try to get rid of them is to go somewhere by myself and start with very short , easy shots and then gradually work my way up. It may be worth a try for you to do this. I am not a pro but I have played for a lot of years and I know the frustration you are feeling. I use to hit a big slice and it took me a long time to correct it. I would get really mad and even felt like quiting a few times, but I finally figured out it is supposed to be a fun , relaxing game and not take it so seriously. So now if I can keep it anywhere under 80 I can live with it. Keep playing , it beats working !!
  6. It has everything to do with mechanics , if you hit it right it will do what you want. Usually when you have the yips you are either wanting to look up to quick or you have doubt in your mind that makes you do something you don't want to do. Generally you will decelerate or are to tense . I have had them to but I found out that confidence has a lot to do with it. I do know it will ruin a good round !!
  7. Ouch !! Yet another that maybe don't call em off ?? That ain't no fun:p:devil:
  8. Chip shot yips ? Probably means decelarating or stopping a swing which will cause you to " chunk" or hit the ball fat. 25 to 35 yds. I use a 56 or 60 degree depending on the green elavation and hit a one hop stop. You need to use a good quality soft ball to stop it. Maybe pro v 1 or Calloway tour 56. Don't take a full backswing but DO take a good followthru thus putting good spin on the ball to stop it. If you are not confident with the wedges then use a bump and run, it will work fine except on some elavated greens where it is necessary to get the ball up in the air. What ever means you use, just practice with it and ALWAYS beleive you CAN hit the shot !!
  9. Anytime ! just like the game and enjoy watching ! Lady devils will have a chance come March if (and I stress if) they are hitting on all five cylinders and can get breathers from 6-7 and 8, JMO !!
  10. Parsley with a double-double -11pts & 10 boards, Simpson & holmes 10 pts each, 9 players scored for lady devils. Isaac 6 pts for Greenup co., Pope had 5, Fox 4,four others with 2 apiece. Russell played 13 girls. Greenup co. did a much better job of ball handling and D compared to their first game. Kidwell won't run the score up even if he can. He has had that done to him once this year when playing his bench, but I won't say by whom !!
  11. Russell 50 Greenup co. 23 final . Kidwell used subs early and often. I did see some improvement in the Greenup co. girls. Maybe by next year they will be ready.
  12. What a major plus that he has become the player he is ! If you don't want to make a mistake don't do anything ! He is doing fine IMO.
  13. Anyway you look at it, the Cats are improving ! Solid win ! If they get healthy they may still get into the big dance !!
  14. Thanks, wish I did ! I'll just keep watching here, maybe they will keep us up to date !
