How good was the team he was on? Was they a state contender or just a one horse show? But putting up them kind of numbers, they might have only needed that one horse!!

I am like you; a diehard Elliott fan, but at this point Scott County is #1 in the state. Elliott should move up in the polls, (btw I dont put much faith in polls just find them interesting) and if they beat Ballard Elliott is surely a top three team in the state. What about this scenario: Scott loses their next game, Elliott beats Ballard and Holmes loses again. Would Elliott be #1? Dont know just fun to think of a bunch of what-ifs.

Yes. I dont see how any pollster could have anyone above them at this point in the season. Unless they soon suffer a loss to a non top 20 like Holmes did, they should be #1.

LOL good point. However I stayed after school and went over to the gym at 4:30; if I hadnt had sit for three hours waiting for the game I might have went to the PAC; but :dancingpanothing like seeing it in person!

At the pace he is on, he could break the 16th region record second game of district or early in the Regional Tournament! Who knows, if Elliott goes far in the state he could break the Ky scoring record which is around 3400 I think? Kind of a stretch to do it, but its possible.

Yes, although it sounds odd, its good for a team to lose a game this time of year, it kind of puts some starch back into their game.

Wow, I dont know much about Boone County, never seen them play and didnt even know they were on the radar, but a win againest mighty Holmes deserves some attention. What a night of basketball! Holmes is took down and Elliott beats a top ten team. This is why I love Ky High School basketball!!!

Was you at this game? Our little gym was packed to compacity, you could not even hear the person next to you while they were yelling in your ear, because that gym was so loud, and Elliott played as good as any team in the state in the second half. Glad you think we are a top 10 team, we appriciate the reconition, however there are not many schools where the fans are as intense and devoted as Elliott County.:thumb:

I just got back from the game and it was a good one!!! Elliott went down 0-8 early tied it by the half and in the second half they turned up the heat and took control of the game! Great job boys, I am so proud of you, now lets go get Fleming and Ballard!!!!

Your right we will never know; I guess thats were facts end and opinions begin.

I agree anything can happen and if West or someone had a great game they might be able to take down Elliott. However this years Elliott County is far better then the 2006-2007 Russell team. I know your going to say that Elliott has the same team as they did then, but they are much better now as seniors and if one player went down like Vanhoose did, Elliott still has enough fire power to get out of this region without a key player. Yes Russell did beat Elliott twice in 06-07 but they were both within 10 points, and Elliott was a better team at the end of the season then Russell, with or without Vanhoose.

Yes, I was at the game last night, It appears to me that their trapping defense isn't what it used to be. Maybe they were just a step slow. It wasn't as effective as years past. Maybe everyone's adjusted and more used to it. But it just seemed that these very talented boys were a little off. Congratulations to Ferg on joining the 3000 point club. Somehow such a monumentous occassion warranted more than just a game ball. Perhaps some sort of trophy or even have the ball bronzed as he is among an elite group of only what 26 or 27 players? The twins continue to create a number of turnovers from the other team, and I want them to continue to improve and do well. This is my team. IMO they were a little off the last few games and I hope they make some adjustments. Ison done a tremendous job for the mintues he got. Chris still is good at creating havoc, I heard a number of comments questioning his decision making on some of his drives though. Timmy had a nice dunk and a few blocks and key rebounds, It's good to see him rebounding more than years past, but he really wasn't effective offensively last night. Good luck in the future, We'll be there rooting you on.

I attended the game. East was ready. Elliott was not. They may have peaked too early cause they are not playing well right now. They missed a lot of close shots but pulled it out. I also attended East's victory last night vs Rowan. Rowan came out and threw a Zone at East and left them unable to get in the groove. Elliott could have benefitted from the same strategy. Also Elliott better pull it together or this next week will not go well. Or have we all started to believe all the hype and just expect too much? I know they used to have a great trapping full court pressure that I haven't seen in a while. Wish them the best, hoping for improvement.
