  1. They might want to try and win (1) before they get into that walk!!
  2. Another move-in for the Wildkats...soundas kind of fishy!!
  3. Does Pileville still have the 6'8 kid that they' inherited' at the Transy camp? Or did he move on to the next available program?
  4. OK,OK--- Here's my list for the 8th 1. Glen Drury Anderson Co., 2. Jon Jones Gallatin Co. ( up and coming program) 3. Gary Forest Oldham Co. (lots of years) 4. Trent Steiner Simon Kenton, 5. Kyle Bennett Walton, 6. Steve Simpson South Oldham ( teams fun to watch. score alot) There's my group!
  5. Rate what you think are the best coaches, and why in your region
  6. I'm not so sure about that.. big schools also have bigger problems....you can't say that about Coach Hicks... he started at a small school. worked/won his way up the ladder....Maybe that should be a criteria..won at all levels...
  7. Part of the scrim. the seniors to be -- is to start getting that bunch ready for next year as well. I'm sure they will scrim others , as teams in the past have done that as well. Usually kept quite to the public.
  8. I like the criteria sited by Rojas4...might want to add a really good coach wins the ones their suppose to, doesn't have a lot of upset loses. Another critieria is that they win with 'their' players.. develop their own, so many live off of move in players.
  9. I like the team.. big question is who is the point guard that makes the others better, handles the rock under pressure?
  10. Rojas; Crestwood an Oldham Co. man...'ouch!' that hurts....Dragons first..then the rest of the county....
  11. Rojas.. rules are rules...repeating the 8th grade is a no no...clock is running...means a 5th year senior...says so in the eligibility book.
  12. Thought troutman and Jacobs both played well. A 5th year senior would have an advantage..moved out of state to get around the rules ,Prep school, played , got hurt, then came back.. come on.. that does go against the rules.
  13. A couple of things... players not showing.. Anderson, Brooks and a few others.. happens every year.. bad advice.. give back to the state you played in!! Indiana doesn't have that problem. with more good kids to choose from! For those of you who put Tim Riley on the list as your all star coach...He was the coach last summer (0-2) as the coach. As far as Haddix is concerned...he wasn't a senior at a state high school ..thus he doesn't qualify.. those are the rules....Tryouts werre OK.. as always some surprises.. some name players didn't have good tryouts.. do you select them anyway? An a few of the lesser names.. played well.
  14. Get a clue...the difference is many ways. phsyical strength....ect...it's not the same as high school ball....21 year olds vs 17/18 year olds...not close.
  15. Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.. congradulations Coach Hicks
  16. Rojas; There you go twisting the truth again....don't think Forest ever said his program was better than Scott's....I think what was said was that Oldham had won 3 straight regional titles and that it was tough to claim Scott was the most outstanding program in the 8th only to have to move to the 11th. Never heard the statement that Oldham was the best..just tough for any team to claim at that time that one was the most outstanding....Both were solid at that time...who was best ??
  17. Yoda; religious issue was resolved, looks like a good chioce for all involved..Finch kid is the real deal! Sorry, would have answered earlier.. been out of town....
  18. rojas4... Oldham is 1 of 3 schools in the county.. not to mention defections to some Louisville schools ( Ballard, Trinity sweet 16 teams in past year have had Oldham kids, Manuel has one this year.)... talent pool has been split into 3'schools in county.. most of the move in's move closer to Louisville...South/North usually get those kids .unlike some other schools...you might know, that makes the job Oldham has done even more tough...particuliarly in the 2000's 4 out of 7 years is still pretty good....while the schools split....
  19. scheduling seems to be a concern.??. OC played 9 of their first 12 games away from Home, that's not the easy way to do things. Their last 9 straight games have been on the 'road' They played 10 teams that won 20 or more games. Played SK (twice) Shelby (1) who at 1 time were ranked....This with 4 out of 5 starters underclassmen....!8 out 29 games on the road.. might be a 'seasoning' for a young team..only 3 senior, one had never played before. Should they have 'book'd' Rupp? Were they invited to any big tourney's? They were a young inexpereinced team....Yeah.. Scott will probably Kill'em!!
  20. Buttrels...Is Gallatins regional record the #1 in the 8th? SK as well as Oldham both have better regional records for this year... not to mention head to head vs Gallatin (SK) didn't play them....Not sure where you were going with this record thing....
  21. Crow is always good at this time of year(it beats possum) Congrat's to Coach Jones and his boys...nice win..the storybook year continues...but, it's gonna be tough on Monday night. Took a double hit last night ...the Dragons just couldn't hang with the Neer's for an entire game....fun while it lasted! One last thought...point well made about the poor sportsmanship from SC. players...not the 1st time this year.
  22. Shelby Co. too many athletes by 8-10...Gallatins storybook season comes to an end... Game 2 might be a little closer....SK by 6
  23. sportsmanic; Nice point concerning one team not letting another team play to it's strengths. Very insightful! For those looking ahead for a possible Gallatin / SK matchup.. I personaly think that's wishfull thinking...Shelby over Gallatin messes up that theory.....go Rockets!
