Lovemyball240 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 There has been talk about the Ky All-Stars scrimmaging the Derek Smith AAU team (seniors to be). There are some tough nosed kids on the Derek Smith AAU team with Nathan Novosel (Lex. Cath), Cameron Hundley (Scott Co.), and Landon Sloan (Paintsville) to name a few. This might be good for the Ky All-Stars to face a tough, fundamental ball team that has played together rather than pulling kids from anywhere and tossing the ball up. Does anyone know where they might have this game? I would pay admission to see them play.
CrestwoodKnowitall Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Part of the scrim. the seniors to be -- is to start getting that bunch ready for next year as well. I'm sure they will scrim others , as teams in the past have done that as well. Usually kept quite to the public.
$$East-Bank$$ Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 That DS Team has alot of talent this year probabily more so than in the past.
gymrat94 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 As last year, these are not always the top juniors around but merely the group of kids tied into the Derek Smith program. Good for that group to get some experience against the senior allstars but they will be missing a handful of top 15 juniors who don't play with that organization.
Log Mountain Boy Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 It would be nice to see Miller, Mackey, Mack, Stepp, and some others play against them.
Beta Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Will this be DS East or West? don't think it will be either - looks like they are looking for the best juniors from around the state.
KHSB1 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 It would be nice to see Miller, Mackey, Mack, Stepp, and some others play against them. I would probably move the Stepp kid out, I don't think he is quick enough for that bunch you mentioned.
sidelinecoach Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I would probably move the Stepp kid out, I don't think he is quick enough for that bunch you mentioned. He is quick enough to compete against the 07 All Stars. He is not as quick as the kids in the 08' class that was mentioned but that does not mean he isn't quick enough to compete.
$$East-Bank$$ Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I would probably move the Stepp kid out, I don't think he is quick enough for that bunch you mentioned. Thats what I was thinking, his name does not belong in that conversation....jmo

Log Mountain Boy Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I would probably move the Stepp kid out, I don't think he is quick enough for that bunch you mentioned. I have only seen him twice, but both times I saw him I was impressed. I think he is a nice player and can get better with time.
