I think the 8th Region All A is theirs to lose. They won it last year and have more players than anyone else returning. They should be fun to watch.

With Coach Woffords daughter Tori on the team, my bet is they had things lined up before his decision to move to the boys side was announced. I'd look for Randy's wife vicky to be the new head coach. She has a lot of coaching experience, was his assistant last year, and would insure that his daughter and the program are left in good hands.

Great recruit for the Saints, but does anyone know why she is leaving Florida. By all accounts she was doing well there.

I guess the answer to this question lies in your definition of what "best" means. For my money I'd pick Coach Richey over Nell or Stowers any day because my definition of "best" is based on the experience my daughter would have playing for the coach. Nell may have more wins, and Stowers should win the 8th Region this year, but give me a class act who respects her players and the game, who has integrity, and whose players conduct themselves in a manner in which everyone can take pride any day of the week. And did I forget to mention, they usually have one heck of a team and consistently place players at the next level too.

Since the end of last season rumors have swirled around about who was transferring where. So school has started. What new players are walking the halls? who is gone? Time to put the rumors to bed.

Can someone please explain to me why we are almost to the dead period and Ryle is still without a coach. The talent pool gets shallower everyday as other schools hire coaches, the team misses out on valuable time transitioning to a new system, there are less teaching positions left to fill increasing the likelihood of a parent or paraprofessional getting the job. The administration should have had someone on deck before Oliverio was gone. Once again they are setting whoever gets this position up for failure and in two years will make him/her the scapegoat and send them packing like they have with the last several coaches.

Do you think that colleges will take her inability to remain content at any one school into consideration when recruiting her? Would they be concerned that she would be just as unloyal to them and jump ship?

So from Holmes to Holy Cross, then back to Holmes and now back to Holy Cross. Add a short summer stint at SK and visits to BCHS and across the river to Princeton I don't think Nostradamus could predict where she will play her senior year.

Can anyone confirm the rumor I'm hearing that a Holmes, to be Junior, has enrolled in Holy Cross, yet again.

So are you saying hes leaving AAU cause its too challenging and is going to Ryle where it will be easier to be successful? And I guess Nancy left NKU for a challenge too? Come on man, you're smarter than that

If you look back at my comment you will see that I said nothing about how he would match up against other 9th region coaches, but even you have to admit that coaching against Fookes, Levendusky, and Stamm will be a bit more challenging than little Suzy's dad or some wannabe coach that never was able to secure a job at the high school level coaching AAU He's a good guy, and a good AAU coach, but the hurdles are many and high. And the transition from AAU to school ball is not an easy one.

He's a smart guy and I'm sure he realizes that there is a world of difference in coaching AAU where you can pick your players, tell parents to take their kid and leave, have no politics and no administration to answer to, and school ball. Not to mention that the level of opposing coaching on a high school bench is far superior to most he has faced in the AAU ranks. Don't get me wrong, I think he'd do a good job, but there will be many more hurdles to clear, especially at Ryle, then in AAU.

Congratulations to Coach Sturgeon. I'm sure that if he gets the support from the parents and administration that he will be able to get SHDHS headed in the right direction very quickly. A good guy and a knowledgeable coach.

I heard she quit coaching at WV due to a lack of time to commit to the program in the off season.
