Cierra Ricketts of Fairdale will pull some of the Jefferson Co. votes away from Monique Reed of Fern Creek.
I will go with Natalie Novasel from Lexington Catholic but the best player IMO is Reed.
I will take Grant in this one. I believe, even though they lost against Walton Verona, they gained a lot of confidence in that game. Other kids have stepped up since the loss of Gorby.
Congratulations to the Wildcats! I am always glad to see the "A" schools knock off one of the big boys, especially in the way it went about.
I should never pick against a team that plays SMART!
Good luck in the "A".
What has happened to Shelby????????????
Having a school policy on this topic is not good. Athletic administrators along with principals need to make this call erring on the side of safety for all involved.
Keep the coaches out of it. Some may want to play if their team is on a roll; some may not want to play if they have a kid sick or injured. I know some coaches who are having bad years really have a hard time finding a make up date if their opponent is pretty good. Sad to say but very true.
Some teams that make it to Richmond are just happy to be there. Those who are truly good basketball teams are able to finish the season strong and sometimes upset the big boys in district and regional play.
It's always a tough place to play and the Lady Bears have won 4 in a row. They won on the road at Henry on Friday and at Grant on Saturday. They are a very confident team.
It should be good one but I have to take the most talented team, Walton Verona, especially at home. These 2 team may meet again in the district when it really counts.
