Thank goodness that road trip is over. The 2 back to back game sets in it was a killer, not to mention, the Bolts haven't played all that well in Boston, Washington, and Pittsburgh, over the years.
Tampa Bay is still 17-6-2. I expected a lull. No hockey club goes very long without one. I'm just hoping the lulls this season are short in duration.
The Rays only have 2 on the radio, Dave Wills and Andy Freed. Same 2 for every game. They have never had a TV crossover.
Atlanta started the TV crossover trend in the late 80's or early 90's when TBS carried all of their games. Some teams followed the trend, some didn't.
Mrs. S is watching a Russian series called "The Dog". It's a police drama set in Moscow. I watched a couple of episodes and it's pretty good, though you have to read the captions.
The lead character drives a beat up and jacked up 2006 Chevy Silverado and his partner drives a Dodge Durango. Does Russia manufacture 4 wheel drive vehicles.
Mrs. S watches a lot of foreign TV and it always surprises me how much influence the USA has on other cultures.
The implosion continues. They are hoping upon hope the FCC blows up net neutrality or they may be in free fall mode. The World Wide Leader in Sports will continue to reduce costs by not re-signing “SportsCenter” anchors whose contracts are coming up in the next 12 months.
ESPN announced Wednesday that it is laying off approximately 150 employees, the network’s third round of job cuts over the past two-plus years.
That shows no availability in Louisiana. They must have it brought in special for the Tulane games, or maybe they did just for the USF game there. That would explain why they sold out so early. The visiting crowd was larger than what they expected.
#19 in that picture with Ricky Ray is WR SJ Green (USF 2006), in his 11th season in the league. This was his third Grey Cup championship, the first 2 with the Montreal (2009,2010) where he spent his first 10 seasons.
After the first back to back losses of the season, the puck stops there.
Dan Girardi got his first goal of the season. Mikhail Sergachev with the other. 34 saves in the shutout for Vassy.
I tend to agree with Danny Kanell...
"This whole thing is a sham built to drive ratings - not true champions. We should stop calling it a playoff and just call it an invitational. That’s all it is."
ESPN and their committee are ruining college football. Despite, or more so, because of their efforts, overall attendance and TV ratings continue to drop.
Mrs. S uses a turkey roaster that has a rack in it. This allows her to cook the bird upside down. She slow roasts it, putting it in before we go to bed at 250 all night. The breast meat and dark meat all are done, tender, and juicy. The skin is golden brown.
I am going to try this spatchcocking thing on a chicken this weekend.
BTW, the Blue Jackets have Yuenging Porter on tap at various kiosks around Nationwide Arena. I wasn't going to have a beer at the game, until I saw that.
Sunday night, RTS & his better half treated Mrs. S and I to the Knotty Pine on the Bayou for Mrs. S's birthday.
Mrs. S had the scallops and I had the Cajun Sampler. Wow!! Great food.
What a way for Quinton Flowers to play his last regular season game.
He had 605 total yards.
24 for 45 for 503 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT. He carried the ball 20 times for 102 yards and 1 TD.
Mitchell is from a solid foundation. Chuck and Carol are really nice people and his grandfather is a Korean War Vet. He's a hoot. The old guy was riding the rodeo bull machine before the Tulsa game. Stayed on it a while, too.
