  1. Congratulations to Coach Hornsby. A good football coach at CovCath(I hated to see he doing golf and not football) he should do well :thumb:
  2. Guess no one thinks China couldn't begin producing heavy equipment, consumer goods; you name it (they’re working on automobiles now-soon to be at a dealer near you). To say we'll put taxes on exports to protect home industries is similar to mercantilism of the 17th century and oh by the way it didn't work. The countries that you speak of namely OPEC countries would simply buy goods from other countries including Europe. Bet the European Union would love to increase market share around the globe. This is an issue of supply and demand. Demand continues to rise and OPEC can regulate supply which in turns affects the commodity prices. A weak dollar doesn’t help but if we increase supply price will go down. Increase supply and lower demand by 1. open ANWR 2. open up more off shore areas 3. begin to invest in new refineries 4. look at new technologies (coal to oil, nuclear, solar, wind) to reduce oil use 5. use new technologies for improved gas mileage (hybrids, electric, hydrogen fuel cells) 6. cut back on driving
  3. =: :laugh:But if it's 3 AM we'll safe because she'll be up answering the phone:banana:
  4. So true. We need true leadership. I don't care if their black or white male or female, Asian American or Irish American or just a plain or mutt like me. We need someone to tell people no- that's not the role of government. Someone who stop bowing and take a stand. Sometimes we need to sallow a bitter pill to be healthy unfortunately too many political types’ only wants to feed us sweets.
  5. Then stop looking, stop trying so hard to "find" God. He'll find you when he's ready. :ylsuper: The path to spritual fullfillment takes many different directions. Most do not have a moment. Many don't find fullfillment because their prayers are always prayers of "want" - What you want God to give you. People then are disappointed when God doesn't "give" or answer their "want" but remember no is an answer.
  6. Neither. A true conservative who wants to see a small government, reduce taxes, open up trade, and create a sensible energy policy with out the special interest people dictating what is good for them but what's good for the citizens. Imagine a politician doing what's good for the people and not what's the best for re-election
  7. A divine man who God has yet to reveal all of his mysteries to us mere mortals.
  8. Great  More money will be wasted on a theory with dubious science work. Might as well sign my pay check over to the government now. What isn't taxed to make things "green" will be going to energy companies to pay for their carbon off sets. Al the while Al Gore and his inner circle gets rich.
  9. Don't forget Carter also sent troops into Iran but thanks for the history lesson.
  10. I didn't know Jimmy Carter was the Great Satan:devil: :scared: That explains alot
  11. Hamas has come out and endosed him for what's that worth
  12. As a man created in God's image he has given me the ablility to reason. Why shouldn't I use my God given talent of reason to debate/discuss/understand the Bible.
  13. 1. I'm so thankful that Gore didn't win in 2000 2. Global Warming is a theory that can not stand up to true scientific scrutiny. 3. Al Gore has numerous conflicts of interest with business investing in the "green" movement. 4. The American people are way too gullible and believe at face value what ever the current media/internet driven crisis is. 5. Al Gore -What a low life.
  14. They already do. New Cath has had a team in the Junior High League for a very long time. Guess you could call them a "club" team. My understanding they will be part of the league making liability a non issue. It's still great for the team and the sport. Giving more oppertunities to play football to young men is a great thing in today's world.
  15. Having had old brothers that had gone through CovCath I didn't take the bait on the tunnels but some did:scared:
  16. Some of us still remember Freshman initiation and pushing pennies across the gym floor :ylsuper::sssh:
  17. :thumb:With a Spirit that will not die:sssh:
  18. But the oil sector is high right now and Banking is near a record low yet they still made a profit of $1.2 Billion. Congress needs to stop pandering and do a true energy policy. Making companies pay a wind fall profit tax is just bad for business. It will force businesses to cut cost to appease investors which in the oil companies case will cause a rise in price in their product. This will hurt the common people in the long run.
  19. IN the free market system companies are in business to make profits. No one is complaining in today's housing/foreclousers that Banks are making huge profits. Example last quarter Bank of America's profits were $1.2 BILLION yet no one wants to put a tax on their profits
  20. They did and the started various clubs/organizations as well.
  21. And Halloween? and Valentines Day? and Black History Month? and on and on It was wrong.
  22. Can't see gas getting that high. We have enough oil/resources in this country. We just don't have the cheap/easy to recover Middle Eastern oil. As soon as we start production on our oil supplies the cost per barrel will drop. If Congress would get off it's collective behind and 1. Open up Artic National Wildlife Refugee, 2. clear the way for new refineries, 3. pass emission standards for coal to oil plants, and 4. increase use of nuclear energy- we would be well on our way for energy independence. We have enough oil in various places including shale oil, oil sands, and coal reserves to meet our needs now and for future generations. As long as we stick to producing our own fuel we'll be fine. The problem is once we start down this path OPEC will begin to pump more, flood the market and the price per barrel will crash. (it happened in the early 1980's) Get Congress to move forward on a real energy policy instead of a gas tax holiday and ethanol from corn and we can have a stable reliable fuel supply without Middle Eastern issues.
  23. Not a total answer but could be part of a solution. If you drive less than 100 miles a day (most of us to commuting to work) electric/battery cars could be a solution. Ethanol is not. Waste to much energy to convert corn to it plus the higher food cost does not equal true saving to citizens.
  24. I was in on those interviews as well, there was no promises broken
