Different sport but I did witness Ashland playing an entire possession in the AIT against 6 people from Warren Central. When Ashland's coach protested he received a justified technical foul for touching the official. Warren Central went on to win the game by 1 point. My experience is that with a few exceptions, when you remove emotions from the equation most officials do a fairly decent job. With that said most regional officials tend to favor their regional team over an outside team. I could be familiarity or it could be the local coaches give them their ratings.
