Does it matter how much worse the offense is or could be? The team is 2-8 and he had nothing to do with the 2 wins. The real question is how much of a negative effect on team chemistry has he been. Let me say that its not just Owens its the entire bunch. Think about it, how many of these guys were cast off from the Cowboys after they wreck one of their seasons. I believe Jones, Johnson, and Owens were all ran out of Dallas. Apparently Owens was he straw that broke the camel's back. But hey, they make up for it by being stars of bad reality tv shows. -
They should take the other guys voting rights away.

So faced with the undeniable facts that the Bengals have went from a playoff team to the top draft choice and Owens had nothing to do with their two wins, do you still think it was a good signing? -

He would look good in a Bengals uniform. -

Last year Owens had 55 receptions for 829 yards and 5 TDs. His replacement this year, UK grad Stevie Johnson, has 44/591/6 with 6 games to go. Looks like the Bills upgraded. -

2-8 after lossing to the mighty Bills. I can say with certainty that they were better before they signed him and couldn't be much worse if they didn't. You guys seem to forget that basically the same roster minus Owens made the playoffs last year. Once again 2-8 speaks volumes. Now I have to ask, and this should be better. How many less wins do you think they would have if they hadn't signed that cancer of a wide receiver? Before you answer in the Bengals 2 wins this year Owens had a combined 7 catches for 99 yars and 0 TDs. -
With Kanter UK is definitely a contender. Without Kanter it is obviously more difficult but I like the way they shoot the ball, great equalizer.

I didn't take any astuteness to realize from the day they signed him that Owens would not help them win. -

Aren't you Mr. Exhibit A? I think you are. So with the Bengals at 2-7 do you still think the signing was a good idea. If so you should change your user name to Mike Brown. -

I bet you have tried to sell someone the Brooklyn Bridge before. Sorry but I'm not buying that one. Let's see Benson, the Bengals best running back, missed three games last year and they still ran the ball more than they did this year. -

Furthermore, the Bengals are 26th in the NFL in rushing attempts this year and finished 9th in 2009. Ironically those rankings are the exact opposite in 2010. 26th in passing attemps in 2009 and 9th in 2010. -

Obviously you don't follow them to closely either. In 2009 Then Bengals ran the ball 505 times in 16 regular season games, in 2010 they have ran the ball 224 time in 9 games. I guess you were not aware that Cedric Benson wasn't their only back in 2009. So they did run the ball more in 2009. -

Enough said? You guys just can't admit that signing Owens was a bad idea. How about if you answer my question about the personel. -

I'm not an a close follower of the Bengals. Someone tell me the personel difference between this year and last. -

I am not speculating. The Bengals went to the playoffs last year by running the ball. This year they are trying to keep the enormous egos happy by throwing the ball. -

I have no idea I could speculate but I don't have to speculate about one thing. He is on the team and they are not winning. -

I went back through this thread and I took alot of crap for saying this was a terrible idea. I think one of my post was referred to as "exhibit a" of someone who doesn't know anything about football. I will say that Owens has been more productive than I thought but the effect is just what I expected. Losers are losers. -

I think it's safe to say that the Bengals season is officially a train wreck. Not that it was predictable or anything. -
10 turnovers was the most notable stat in my opinion. This team seems to pass and execute very well on the offensive end.
