Good point about a pitcher. But the difference between a large school and a smaller is that great pitcher would need to move to shortstop the next game. In a school with more athletes he would get to DH or even sit out. Anytime a school with 1/4 the amount of numbers can compete it is remarkable feat.

Not true. If you pick 9 kids out of a school with 1000 boys and 9 kids out of a school with 200 boys which school do you think should win. That would be like saying. Let's take 5 different little league all star teams add them together and pick the best player and compete against on leagues all star team.

Kelsey Robinson for NC had 10 assist 2 turnovers playing on a torn ACL. Nice to see after Bardstown coach had comment that her injury would not be a big loss for the team.

The more I read this post the more kids I think about that can play at this level. Let me name a few. Cameron Mason Ryan Messex Taylor Banks Brian Hockman Tyler Wright Jo Jo Simms Casey Robinson Cody Alvey Jeff Gardner Anthony Carney Matt Bowles That takes the list up to about 40 kids and barely includes Lexington. Somebody throw out a Lexington list.

Did he have a pretty good summer? Who did he play summer ball with?

This is a tough topic. I think it is really hard to determine. Players play in different regions (i.e. different competition levels). Many play out of position because of the need of their high schools. Many times I will here how good a player is in high school and then see them in a travel or AAU situation and they are only average. I have also seen the reverse scenario where a player is very good in an AAU situation but only average in high school. I do concur that that is an excellent list of players noted above but there are several very good players left out.

Nelson Co. continuing to improve. Lacey Hagan making the difference. Her outside shooting is really opening things up down low. Gillis is doing a great job as always taking care of the ball and distributing to Drake on the break. The return of Kelsey Robinson and Sarah Beth Hutchins brings alot of depth back to the team.

"Bullitt East (May have best 1&2 in Mcalpin and Bowles)" I think you mean Brandon Alphin and Matt Bowles. Both Juniors East also has two other quality senior pitchers in Justin Jones and Pat Revel that would be at the top of many staffs. As long as everyone stays healthly, East should be very solid..

Depth and fatigue is not a factor in baseball. X an T beat alot of teams in football because they have more numbers. Not the same advantage in baseball because fatigue is not an issue.

Bethlehem 28 Mayfield 24

This team will be much improved this year. They had a great summer season and have really meshed more as a team that last years squat. Expect big things.

Bethlehem travels to Mayfield. 4 hours is a long trip to watch a 3-7 team play a 5-5 team.

You are going to have to show me that because I have seen it called a balk on many occasions. Additionally have seen coaches argue both ways.

I have no problem with that play but do not see it work very often. Most high school coaches will review this with their staff. It is much more common to have a 1st and 3rd situation and have the runner on 1st leave early. Often in this situation a pitcher who has not been coached up about this situation will not step off and may balk.

Big drop with the loss of Hayes.

Unable to keep the athletes out. The two classes prior to this years had 25 boys between them. Less than half of those boys are still playing for one reason or another. Bethlehem's tough pre-district schedule has taken a toll on them the past two years.

I am aware of Spring Training in Cocoa Beach and have been to Orlando a couple of times. Anybody know of any good sites closer to the panhandle area.

Did he play during the summer. Sounds like a good player.
