Rockmom, I live in Louisville, so I think I understand what you mean. I just want to clarify what I said before. I think it is GREAT that people from Louisville are rallying behind Central. I also think it is NORMAL and UNDERSTANDABLE that those teams that Central played on the football field are also routing for them. I believe this is primarily because Central EARNED THE ADMIRATION of opposing teams by playing great football. If someone is routing for Louisville Central because they have poor fan support, I think that is JUST FINE and a nice gesture, but IMHO, sorta tied to pity.

FTBIGBIRD, You are fine man. Nothing wrong with following a team that you played earlier in the year. It tends to happen every year. A team plays a great game with another program, and thereafter sorta takes an interest in their success. Obviously LC earned the admiration of Fort Thomas fans by playing exceptional football.

As to talent. They look to have it in abundance. Watched a bit of the PT game thanks to the link provided earlier and they looked strong, big, and fast. I also didn't see any lack of discipline. I think all of the fans predicting Belfry to win big are off base. I still say Belfry by 7 points. Gonna be a great ballgame.

It really does sound that way Rockmom. If you are a fan of the program and would like to see them win, that great. If you are routing for the kids because nobody seems to follow them, thats fine too, but that IS sorta a pity approach.

Central looks best when they spread the field. PT ran a very similar offense to Belfry. Should be a very good ballgame.

I would be shocked to see a lopsided outcome. But who knows?

Hope Rich is watching the title matchup. Belfry's Blackburn may also be someone UK should pay some attention to.

Despite Breathitt putting basically everyone on top of the LOS, they were unable to stop Belfry for a loss on a single carry that I could remember. Line serge alone was good for 4 yards. Unless Louisville Central can make some stops in the backfield, I just don't see Belfry losing. Then again, I haven't seen Louisville Central play. If the QB can delivery an accurate deep ball, Belfry can be burnt deep. I would try to get the ball away from the front seven as fast as possible. Belfry is dynamite from end to end.

I actually disagree with the above statement. I think the BEST way to play Belfry (most years) is to make them earn EVERY yard. I would play "bend/don't break" D, and mix in timely run blitzes/agression against the Pirates because: 1) Every handoff is a chance for a botched snap, missed assignment, which potentially leads to poor down and distance situations (which Belfry is traditionally not suited to handle) 2) You make Belfry absolutely execute on every play. Every snap is also an oppurtunity for a false start, etc. Again, you might get them in 1st and 15. Then shoot the gaps. Then its 2nd and 15 = Belfry out of comfort zone. 3) Making the Pirates toot the ball 10-15 times on a drive = more oppurtunities for a fumble. Granted, if Belfry executes and plays turnover free its gonna be a long/demoralizing night for the opposition. If they fumble 3 times and have a half dozen key penalites, the opposition goes home winners. Ask Middlesboro how stacking the line fairs against Belfry. Granted Breathitt did it with success in the past, but IMO they had superior talent. I don't think that is the case this season.

I'm just happy to be getting a chance to get in. I was dying to go to the JC game earlier this year, but work stood in the way. Same thing last week. This week, I am off and next week I requested off. That's right boys and girls. Cause Belfry marches on! Always good to get back home to the mountains, but its especially nice to get back for a Belfry game!
