Transfers?

Anyone else hear that: "thud, thud, thud"? Beating a dead horse here.....Write the Enquirer and hope they change the map to your school if you aren't happy. I doubt anyone on here can change it.

Show me "Northern Kentucky" on a map....there is no definitive outline of what it is. No matter where you stop, the next school outside of that boundary will complain! Not that you are complaining, but where is the boundary? The Enquirer must think Region 9.

So I know of a Kentucky vs Ohio game, and Kentucky vs Indiana game, but what about Kentucky vs WV and/or Kentucky vs Tennessee? And what other All Star games are there in KY for Seniors?

In KY what is the most important All Star game?

Who do you think then? You seem to know everyone it isn't and why.

There are so many different showcases and all star games now that things that used to of high importance are no longer important. Too many games to chose from now......

Since they only get to play in two all star games, most play in the North/South Ohio Game and then either their own District Game. I don't think the OH/KY means as much in Ohio......

Second half of the season. I don't think the first half of the season guy was a local...

Very well said! And I wish WV the best of luck with the two new guys from HC. I hope they stay there a long time and are successful and live up to the expectations that the WV faithful have. Hopefully a year or two from now, the grass isn't greener in another gymnasium!

Loyalty is a two way street. But what about those kids you leave behind, because you may be leaving for more $ or because of a better program. Sometimes they factor in. I know of several local coaches who could leave for better programs, and don't. Sometimes it would be better money, or better support from parents, but they stay because of loyalty. I don't know these guys who left for WV, so I am not going to say either way why I think they left, but I don't really agree with your view on loyalty. There are a lot of factors, and every situation is different. IMO there should be a lot more loyalty in general from everyones position.....I respect coaches who stay put and finish a job. Nothing wrong with leaving for other positions after you have put in some time. But when it is one year here, three here, two here, and so forth you do have to ask what are they looking for in coaching.....but again, just my opinion.

Aren't they losing their coach? Or at least that is the way the WV posting is sounding. Who will be next to lead the above people?

I know as posted on another thread that the following were award winners in Region 9. Conference Coachs and Players in the 9th Region are as follows. Coaches Div. I--Kim Wafield--Conner Div. II- Jamie Richey-Highlands Div-III-Aaron Stamm-Ludlow Players of the Year Div. I--Christina Weaver--Holmes Div. II--Katie Allen-------Highlands Div. III-Ashley Daugherty-Ludlow My question is who is the "overall" COY and POY out of those 3 in each category?

I agree. DI gets thrown out there a lot now and unfortunately, sets kids up for a disappointment when a lower level school approaches them. I will admit, I don't know the Conner girl that well, so I can't say my opinion on if she is a DI player or not. I have seen Hallman and Schweggman play and they were legit. Thomas More has 2 girls this year that transferred from DI. Which shows that some girls would rather play at a lower level (no shame) and get more time, then get less time at a higher level. It all depends on the kids. But bottom line for me, it is best to let the college scouts and coaches evaluate. I hate seeing kids hurt because someone has misled them on their level. But that is just my opinion.....

I don't disagree. I am more of a traditionalist. That is why officials are paid to make those calls. But it is worth a discussion with the technology that we currently have. The thing is, these kind of calls aren't ordinary. Things are normally not that close to call. In a game like that, it would be hard to be the coach on the losing side. Or the Seniors that worked so hard to get there and then have that dream possibly dashed. With KY being so steeped in tradition, is it even a remote possibility?

IMO with all the technology we are blessed with, it is a shame that in the biggest game of the year, the wrong call was made. Maybe they lose in overtime, but at least they had a chance to win or lose.... However, I do agree there should be stipulations. Not coaches getting red flags to throw on the court. But a situation like this could have been avoided with Instant Replay!

In the Ohio State Championship game, a girl made a layup as time expired to win the game 69-67. However, TV replays showed the ball did not leave her hand in time (.3 seconds). It was almost impossible to tell live. Therefore it should have went to OT. According to the NFHSA instant replay is not allowed. So the winning team (Mount Notre Dame) escaped OT and the losing team (Lakota West) gets to wonder what if forever..... My question is, should Instant Replay be allowed to be used in State Tournament games where technology is abundant?
