  1. Bell County seems much more poised to handle big games, being they are the defending state champions. Whitley on the other hand, slipped badly in their only test this year. With that said, I think Bell is more accustomed to handling the big game, and playing Alcoa will pay off Friday night. Bell by 21.
  2. I believe our boys earned the right to carry the "C" on the helmets this week. Caleb Watkins really took it to Danville in the 4th Quarter. What a gutsy performance playing both ways. Certainly led by example last night. I'd also like to give props to Mr. Roman Mitchell. He played perfectly at QB for the Redhounds last night. He did a great job leading the offense, and was very effective when callled on to throw the ball. To the young men in the trenches- way to step up!!! It was nice to see Ryan Fritts get a few carries last night. Hopefully he will slowly progress back into to the RB we know he is! For Danville, the sky is the limit for them once they work out a few little kinks. They are a nice looking team with a bright future. Congrats Hounds!!!
  3. Corbin is #2 ranked team BGP Poll, and most other 2A polls.
  4. Corbin's line has to step up to the plate if they win this game. They have not been tested, and Danville WILL be sound up front. After seeing us play the Harlan schools, this is a bigger challenge for our young men in the trenches than many of you feel like, I believe.
  5. Corbin's run D better get it pulled together fast if this holds true. We allowed way to many big runs at Harlan, and we all no Harlan is no Danville.
  6. Corbin began pulling starters as soon as the 4th began. I thought Pennington and Link for Harlan were very nice football players. Matthew Taylor is making a statement at RB for the Redhounds.
  7. I think Whitley has some things they can work on in this game. If Lebanion really is out, this is a great opportunity to give Inman 4 quarters of QB experience that he will need for the rest of the season. This game could be a very valuable "transition" game I suppose.
  8. The line has to step up and make blocks if Corbin is going to have a good year. When you run the ball, you obviously need to control the LOS, and we didn't do a very good job of that against Harlan Co.
  9. Its been a while since Bell Co. took one on the chin, but I must say there are only a few teams in KY who would have a sporting chance against the Tornadoes. The way they can run the football eat up the clock and score the ball makes it almost impossible to keep up.
  10. Its shame the Colonels couldn't close this one. All except 10 minutes they basically dominated the game. If you remember in the predictions thread, I said something to the effect of you can dominate Lex Cath, and still get beaten with a few big strikes.
  11. Lex Cath has scored 22 4th Quarter points and now hold a 36 to 33 lead. 5 minutes to play.
  12. Alcoa has posession and is driving. Seems like they are beginning to wear on the Bobcats. 55 yd run by the Tornadoes.
  13. Josh Wynn breaks free for a long TD run for Whitley Co. 21 to 7. County leads.
  14. 20 - 14 Alcoa leads, EP Pending.
  15. Alcoa driving, 7 minutes left in the 3rd. Qtr. Wait....Touchdown Alcoa.
  16. Whitley Co. 14 Lex. Cath. 7 First Quarter. 2 very impressive drives so far by the Colonels.
  17. Alcoa field goal attempt of 39 yards sails wide. Halftime!
  18. Alcoa called for intentional grounding. Officials back them up 15 yds from spot of play. Ball spotted on the 50 yd line
  19. Defending TN 2 A State Champions.
  20. 25 seconds left in the half. Alcoa on Bells 25. 1st down.
  21. 1:25 left Alcoa ball on Bell Co. 40 yd line. 1st and 10
  22. Josh Brown Fumbles - Alcoa recovers. 3:22 remaining in half.
