The newest version of what seems to be a 200 year old series will be played at LC friday. (I am almost certain that the first settlers on Spider Creek and the first settlers on Briar Creek met in this series....and it was probably decided on a late kick.)

 

I have to think that WCHS is going to be a lot to try to handle for the Cats this season. We have won 2 of the last 4 and the series has been going to the home team. I want the Cats to take it, but I am afraid WC has way too much to handle. (Maybe some of the Pioneer ghosts will help us out?:scared:)

With Lebanion's status unknown it could change how the game is played. I would not bet against Lynn Camp at home. Whitley will have to improve from the 40+ defensive effort from last week. Lynn Camp will have to find some type of offense. It could come down to just who is the better shape and who wants it more.

Whitley suffered some injuries in the game with Lex. Cath. Not sure if Lebanion will be playing or not. This is always a good game. Lynn Camp will need to throw the ball to offset the run defense of the Colonels. I think Whitley is better than Clay County. I look for Whitley to win by a large margin.

After seeing Lynn Camp against Clay County I just can't see this being a close game. I don't think the Wildcats break their scoring drought in this one. I'll take the Colonels 54-0.

I think Labanion will be on the field. We've all seen it before. Resurected starters.

 

I don't know if WCHS can score 50 without their starter.

 

I don't know if LC can score 6 the way they moved the ball this week.

I don't see LC breaking out an air raid, or a mini air raid for that matter. LC has to play better defense than they did last week. WCHS is probably better than Clay, BUT I don't know if WCHS's skill players are better than Clay. Not a knock on WC, but I am a believer in what I saw from CC friday. If you get a chance to watch them, make the trip.

I can see your point but it is a rival game and Lynn Camp would love nothing better than to put Whitley in a 0-2 hole. In another thread it was said Whitley committed 20 penalties in the Lex Cath game, and if they do that Friday (which is a possiblity) then they will struggle.

Lynn Camp's offense looked horrendous against Clay County, who is not known as a defensive juggernaut. Its just a prediction......the might not be a shutout but it won't be close.

I see a physical game. Every game in this series is brutal. It could end up being 702-0, but, Colonel Nation, I will guarantee one thing to you personally:

 

WCHS, with or without the starting QB, will know they were in a football game with Lynn Camp. The score may not tell the tale, but LC can, and will, play physical football with anyone they play.

 

We are not scoring right now. We had troubles stopping CC, which, as I said earlier, could be BETTER in the skills sets than WCHS. I have not seen WCHS this year, but I am familiar with what they have. I am capable of comparing the two teams (CC and WCHS) and can tell you what I have seen.

 

We are however, still laying licks. LC will not just sit there and be tackling dummies for the Colonels. Anyone who knows this series knows better than that. Its bitter, its brutal and its all out there. It would not be a shock if it was a blowout. Its happened before. It would be a shock if either of these teams ever just let the other one abuse them without fighting back.

 

You are right about the pain, but it has always gone both ways.

Whitley will want to keep LC on the schedule, so no need to run it up on the Wildcats this season. I would say around 42 to 12 in favor of the Colonels. The has been a series where LC and Whitley have played each year for over 25 years. That is more than most area teams can say. LC has dodged no one and continues to play even when the odds are stacked against them. They are not like most local teams and only want to play the big boys when they feel they are loaded. I commend Coach Mitchell and the Cats for providing their school and fans with a tough schedule each and every season.

Even with week one (zero) being full of upsets out of no where, I feel comfortable predicting WC by a very very large amount over LC. Campers just seem to be out manned in this one. As far as comparisons to WC giving up 40+ last week to what their D would do this week, that's kind of silly. Lex Cath is just a little better than Lynn Camp this year.

Coach has never dodged anyone and will play anyone who will schedule us. Most of the teams we have had through the years have battled to the end, too.
