Letcher Central 27 North Laurel 21
My prayers go out to Cam and Billy, I hope from a physical aspect these boys are going to be alright. Its injuries in a game that make you realize that this is just a game and what really matters is that when someone does get hurt that they are going to be okay from a physical view point, not for football's sake. Those two boys are tough and I know they'll both pull through both their injuries. I really felt coming out of half time that this was North's game to give away and they did. LCC came out fired up after halftime and you could tell that they had a good gameplan for the second half. North did a good job in the first half of capitalizing on penalties, somthing they haven't done that good of a job with all season, but its just a fact of the matter that if you're negative in the turnover battle at the end of each game..you're going to be at the losing end on the scoreboard.

Sounds like a heck of a game. Congrats to the Maroons on the win and hope South can bounce back from the loss.

Letcher Central 27 North Laurel 21
This was an all around good game last night. Both teams played hard all game long and the game was probably one of the best called games I've seen in awhile. I first want to say that LCC's fans and facilities were awesome, some of the nicest people I've ever met last night, I just wanted to thank you all for hosting a great game. Now onto the game... North played better last night, I really thought they were going to pull this one out, costly turnovers have been the theme of the season it seems. LCC is a second half team it looks like, they make better adjustments than any team I've seen all year. They came out and just wanted it more. Congrats to LCC on making the playoffs. Good Luck to both teams the rest of the season.

Letcher Central v North Laurel Predictions
Well, just wanted to say good luck to both teams tonight. I will be making the looong trip over to LC for the game and hopefully it'll be a good one and my Jags can finally pull out a "W".

You all can make the Jones/Wardrup argument all day long. They both have their own talent...Jones has things Wardrup doesn't and vise versa. Jones wants to play WR thats all there is to it.

Well, lets not get into another Wardrup arguement. I didn't agree with the comment about he only made mistakes when he was throwing the ball down field to avoid a sack, well a good QB doesn't throw it up for grabs just to avoid a sack....Turnover or loss of yards, which would you pick?? But, everyone has their own view on Wardrup and he is just a kid so, no need to argue over him on here.

Letcher Central v North Laurel Predictions
Does anyone have any stats or players to look out for from LC?? Not real familiar with this team.

Yeah and I agree with you. Calls are going to be questioned by someone no matter what the outcome is, if the sub-offical made a bad call then he needs to be more careful about his calls, but like you said it had no outcome on the games final score. Whitley County had the better team on Friday night and looked WAY more prepared to play.

I've accepted that. I wasn't talking about this crew...as far as I'm concerned the game wasn't called that bad at all. I've seen plenty of different crews in games though and many of them are all around bad officals. I was talking about many crews around SEKY. Also, in no way was I saying that I could do any better of a job..but I didn't make it a job of mine. If you're going to do it...do it right.

He was only out one offensive series that went three and out. He went down right before halftime and came back in afterwards.

I agree, we shouldn't have to "accept" mediocre officals.

North fans were upset because calls started coming in bunches toward the end of the game but if you think about it thats when players started smarting off to the refs and the coaches started getting heated toward them as well so...really until the end of the game, when it was out of reach was when all the calls started getting made. North played NO WHERE near good enough to win this game, refs or not..thats plain and simple.

Letcher Central v North Laurel Predictions
Anyone know why Wardrup was wearing a play band but it was never used, he still ran to the sideline every play to get a new play. Why wear the band if you're not going to use it? I think that's a HUGE problem for the North offense, not having a benefit of a hurry up offense or a no huddle. Wardrup having to run to the sideline every offensive play slows the offense down so much that even if you get a little momentum going your way it gives the D a chance to rest because you have to come over and get a new play and then run back out and go back into a huddle. I just think that's something the coaches could work on to try and help the offense play a little more face paced.

Letcher Central v North Laurel Predictions
Totally agree, North can't score and from the looks of it Letcher can score anytime they really want to so. I'll have to give it to LC by 2 touchdowns. LC - 28 NL - 14

I completely agree with you on that one.

Well, the game got a little to heated for me toward the end of the game. North fans basically calling for the refs heads by the end of the game. The North Laurel receivers beat Whitley county's secondary all night long but North either went to the run to much or the receivers would drop the passes, Whitley's run defense was awesome tonight though. The North defense didn't seem like the same D that I've seen the last couple weeks. They couldn't seem to figure out that when Whitley put in #24 Labanon that he was running the ball and when #3 came in it was going to be a pass. I know they figured it out by the second half and then still couldn't really stop it. The North offense still struggled they only scored two touchdowns the whole game, Tyler Pennington took the first touchdown in off of a blocked field goal. I think IMO Adrian needs to learn when to eat the ball and just run, both INTs he threw were questionable throws on his part, but other than that he had a good game tonight throwing the ball.

Whitley County vs North Laurel
Well, I hope North can pull this off. I believe I heard someone saying that Whitley was a run stop defense which is the same kind of defense that gave North fits in the Clay County game..so hopefully North can find a way around that one. If North has to rely on passing then I'll give the advantage to Whitley.

I actually think the Jaguars have an excellent group of runners in Tyree, Setters, Brandonburg and numerous others that are able to run the ball at anytime. I just don't think that they each are being used to the best of their ability. I recently saw some stats from the JV team the last few years and Setters had 950 + yards running in the JV season (thats pretty good to me) and if I recall right most of the runs were to the outside, not up the middle as he is being used this season. Tyree showed some AWESOME hands during the Clay game and showed just how much of an asset to this team he is. Brandonburg pounded the ball all night long and I believe they are using him the right way because if he gets a full head of steam goin, there aren't a lot of people going to take him down. So I do believe that North has an excellent group of runners, I just don't know if they are all being used in the right way.

How good could we be?
I don't know about that last part but, it'd be a pretty good football team.

North Laurel vs. Clay County
I really hope the North offense comes out and shows everyone that they're not just relying on the defense to win the games for them. North needs to come out early and score and give that D a little room to work with.

Good job JV team.

Southwestern VS South Laurel... Week #3
Actually, from what I saw at last weeks NL/SL game, Bowling only threw long to #13 Bubba Bailey and the rest of the time he threw into the flats to his running backs or threw screen passes to the other 2 wide receivers. So Southwestern needs to keep a spy on Bowling and play a zone D to keep some defenders in the flats and that'll be their key to winning this game.
