I just hope Dixie comes out healthy.

Mo can put the ball in the endzone. He was putting them inside the 5 in middle school. I don't understand why these teams that have kickers with legs continue to allow returns with the high school rules.

I honestly don't know. I have nothing but respect for those guys based on my interactions. They're in a tough spot right now with injuries and personnel. They're playing a lot of sophomores. They're trying to figure out the QB position. It was a 4 man competition that has been moved to 2 due to injuries. Would 1 of those 2 been a better fit with this offense, I don't know. The 2 that are playing are battling, but they have completely different styles and skill sets. I think offensively they're shooting themselves in the foot with the way they call their plays in. The other teams are picking it up and know what's coming. They need to disguise them better. They could also use a little more diversity in their plays, but maybe they're keeping it simple in these non-district games knowing they have a tough schedule to start the season and a new qb to break in.

Dixie kept it respectable in the first half. They just need to find some offense.

As mentioned above, typically the trainers at each school are to monitor for their school and chart the readings throughout the practices. The WBGT is to be setup for about 20 minutes before getting your first reading. They can alert the trainer as soon as they reach a certain threshold. They can also alert anyone around with an audible alarm. Those with grass practice fields will have a better chance of holding practice after school this week compared to a school practicing on turf.

The passing game was the difference tonight. Dixie couldn't stop Badin's, and Dixie couldn't get their's going. Dixie stopped Badin and forced a punt on their opening drive, but Dixie fumbled the punt and Badin recovered. Badin then went on to score 28 unanswered before Dixie was able to punch one in. Dixie's run defense was solid tonight. However, their secondary struggled to defend Badin's passing attack. It wasn't necessarily bad coverage outside of maybe their 2nd TD, they just didn't find the ball to make a play on it. Offensively, the run game showed spurts but the passing game was nonexistent. In these non-district games, I'd let my young quarterback make more attempts down the field. I think they only attempted 4 passes beyond the LOS with 1 being a pick and the others incomplete (you could argue pass interference on 2 of them).

Waters (SR) has been out, and from my understanding will be back for CovCath at the earliest. Starting OLB, and then offensively WR, RB, and competed for the QB spot. Henson (SR) was limited last week. Starting safety, and then offensively also WR, RB, and competed for the QB spot. Roaden (SR) was also limited last week. Starting MLB and rotating in at RB giving them a big, physical back. Niemeyer (JR) likely out for season from playing the field, but may be able to kick later in the season. Was kicker and special teams player last year on varsity and got a few snaps at QB in mop up duty. Other than kicking, probably would've been in the mix for starting CB opposite of Grey. He was also in competition for QB spot. Played CB, QB, and K for JV last year.

These next few weeks are going to be rough. They have too many key players banged up that they can hopefully get back by district play. They've got 3 seniors that play both ways each with a bad wheel. 1 has been out and 2 that were limited last week. They've got a junior out with a back injury, but not sure how much impact on the field they were expecting out of him besides kicking. Therefore, it's given some sophomores the opportunity to see varsity time.

Did a quick search because this sounded really high. ~ 23% live in an apartment or multi-family unit. ~ 59% own their home. ~ 41% rent.

Buccaneers rookie, ex-LSU standout Jack Pyburn among 16 suing for possible college football return
A court upheld the NCAA's appeal today, so now those players are ineligible again.

The argument being pushed revolves around the NCAA's new 5 for 5. You now get 5 years to complete 5 seasons of competition. This new rule applies to everyone in college now and going forward. The class that just graduated was the first class to not get a covid year. Those few classes before them got a covid year. Therefore, the argument is that those before them and after them get 5 years, but not them. A court ruling has allowed those student-athletes return to school, but the NCAA has an open appeal against the ruling. My daughter's soccer team just pulled in 2 girls that graduated last year.

I think in a real game, they'll find their grove with Barger running more. He's a threat on the ground, and it looked like they only had a couple designed runs for him in that scrimmage.

Dixie had a couple players out during their scrimmages. They need them back to compete with SK. Also, the d-line needs to keep the linebackers clean to make plays. SK linemen can’t get to the 2nd level, or it’ll be a long night.

Dixie looked much better compared to last week. The o-line did much better sustaining blocks giving the backs room to run. The offense is still a work in progress as the sophomore qb looks to get settled in. Defensively they gave up 2 big plays on long TD runs, but otherwise played fairly well. They still have some key starters out, so hopefully they’re back soon. Lloyd had the 2 big plays on offense and that was about it. Too many drops from receivers. I think in a normal game, you’ll see their QB run more as he’s a threat with his legs. Defensively, they also have to stop the big plays as Dixie had a few with a couple deeper passes and long TD run. There was a brief fight in the 1st quarter that led to a Lloyd player being ejected. I assume that suspension carries over to next week. You couldn’t hit the QBs tonight, and a Lloyd player lit up the Dixie QB at the goal line. Dixie’s lineman came to his defense, and in the skirmish, it looked like the Lloyd player threw a punch leading to the ejection.
