What a shame... Can't say I have confidence KHSAA will replace this with something better, but its far superior to CoachT.com or the conference websites Cincinnati + the state of Ohio use.

I would find that hard to believe. I have read that about 30% of Division I athletes don't matriculate at another Division I school, but P4 bench players are like NBA bench players. They typically make a heck of a lot more money than their peers.

P4 Basketball gives out money like its candy. Not sure if there is a "State of the Union" CBB thread or if there would be interest on this site, but the numbers that KIDS (who haven't played or produced in D1) are asking for is out of control.

1. You may be surprised about how many players are fired (or scholarship not renewed) and are thus forced into the portal, and how many players look forward to the portal each spring because they don't like their coach/being held accountable, they don't like competing for minutes, etc. For the GOOD players, I think you are correct. But many college players are accustomed to taking the path of least resistance as they've had things taken care of (AAU fees, new shoes/gear, modified attendance or deadline policies in the classroom, etc) during their youth days. 2. Agree that a salary cap is a good thing, though even when the salary cap was $0 college coaches still paid top players 3. There has to be a way to create a non-employee collective bargaining agreement, unless only FB, MBB, some WBB are classified as employees. Higher education institutions are already understaffed and underfunded, if they are legally required to pay non-revenue sport athletes, those sports may cease to exist.

Hard to track whats real and not real in this saga...Awful decisions by Moore. Has anyone found validity to the claims: It was not just an affair, but he impregnated her and then paid for an abortion? Did he salary actually increase by 55% in Year 3? Did the mistress and wife actually follow each other on Instagram? One has to wonder how common this is or isn't....Would venture to say most Division I football staffs have women in support staff or on-campus recruiting roles...

Really sad if true. Gaither was always great to me hosting the summer Titans/Rockets shootouts....Hope he gets whatever he deserves.

Have heard an 11th region guard will become the all-time leading scorer in Lexington history this season with less than 600 more points, and wanted to verify. The legend Greg Mason has made the surprising decision to step down as Head Coach. Citing health issues (3 surgeries last season, missed 10 games) and family/life balance as the primary reasons. He will remain in Danville, working at ______'_ ____ (can't reveal until he announces) but sounds like it will be a much better fit for him and family. Congrats Coach Mason on an unbelievable run!

Community 'waving back' to beloved NKY man after he became victim of second suspected drunk driving crash More than $100,000 has been raised online, and hundreds of people attended a Crestview Hills restaurant fundraiser on Wednesday CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — A Northern Kentucky man known for waving to drivers from his wheelchair is receiving overwhelming support from the community after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. Brad Fritz was struck on Turkeyfoot Road last Tuesday by a suspected drunk driver. Police charged James McGillicuddy with OVI and assault. McGillicuddy was initially out on a $10,000 bond, but it was raised to $250,000 on Tuesday. The incident marks the second time Fritz has been the victim of a crash involving a suspected impaired driver. When he was 15, Fritz was injured as a passenger in a car crash where a friend who had been drinking was behind the wheel. He’s made the incident his life’s work. Fritz speaks with local youth about the importance of driving sober. According to a Facebook post by Fritz’s brother, he was discharged from the ICU to a rehab center earlier this week, but the pain is still substantial. “The broken ribs and surgically repaired arm are the major drivers,” Fritz wrote. The community has responded with an outpouring of support for the man many know as "Champ." At Niceley’s Appliance Repair, over 100 people have visited to trace their hands on a piece of paper. It’s a symbol of waving back to Fritz, said owner Jeff Niceley. "We came up with the idea of people tracing hands and sending messages to him," Niceley said. "This is what we can do back for him, let him know that he means something to us." A card drop-off box is at the front desk during business hours. The box is moved to the front door overnight. The Erlanger Fire Department also showed their support with a special bouquet of cardboard hands, each with a personalized note. A fundraiser at Wings and Rings in Crestview Hills drew large crowds throughout the day, with attendance surpassing even their busiest Bengals game days. "I've worked here for four years, and I'm sweating," said Lillian Ramsey, a hostess at Wings and Rings, only a few minutes into the lunch rush. The restaurant at noon was completely packed. And while those crowds were good for business, Ramsey said seeing the community’s support is personal: "I actually have experienced Brad myself. He's awesome. He comes in and sits at the bar, or he mingles with all of the people, the customers, the staff here." One of those people is Amy Paige of Erlanger. She fought back tears while speaking about Fritz.
