^ But who's fault is that? The arenas are there, and plenty good enough to play in.

GWB's fault.

It is no person's fault. Just the reality of the situation. A huge advantage, none-the-less. Especially with the pod system now.

In reality what's more of an advantage for Duke? The locale of the venue, or the talent gap with the teams that they play in the first two rounds?

Obviously the second, but every point counts. If it means a 2-3 point home crowd advantage and not having to worry about the travel hassle, it is worth something.

Rule needs to change, plain and simple. Needs to be a level playing field for all. Same state should not be able to host two consecutive years.

That's impossible. Unless they are going to start playing in 7,000 capacity arenas.

Judging by Coach K's reaction the last time he had to play in Kentucky during the tournament.... :idunno:

That was the Sweet 16. I don't understand the point of your post.

And Coach K seemed to think the venue was quite important. Still applies in the first round, even if the talent differential is greater.

Radford made the Sweet 16?

Unless I am mistaken I thought the last time Duke was in Lexington was 2001. The paper on the link was too small for me to read.

Why wouldn't the venue be important?

No it's not.

No it's not.

Unless you're going to host first round games and Final Four games in the same venue, yes it is. There are only so many venues that hold 12K+ people.

So you are telling me that Colonial Life (South Carolina) arena (seats 18K) could not replace Greensboro this year? If so, why not?

That's one state. What about the rest of the first round sites that get recycled constantly?
