... His parents are divorced as well. Not saying that means he will be a bad kid because they are divorced but just another part of the situation. He father also had some kind of murder charge dropped at one point, I think attempted murder.

Geauga County Common Pleas Court records show the parents of Thomas "TJ" Lane III divorced in March 2002.

 

One month later, in April 2002, Lane's father, Thomas M. Lane Jr. was issued an indictment charging him with felonious assault, kidnapping and disrupting public service.

 

The summons was sent to the address on Wilder Road in Chardon that was searched by police early Monday.

 

Lane does not own the property but records indicate it is owned by a family member. But just three months later, Lane was charged with violating a temporary restraining order.

 

In August, Lane was charged with attempted murder and a court order was issued prohibiting contact his wife other than visitation with his children.

 

Finally, in October 2002, Lane struck a plea deal and was sentenced on the assault and disruption charges, but the kidnapping charge was reduced to unlawful restraint and the attempted murder charge was eventually dropped.

I wonder if procedures for that will change moving forward.

He is nothing but a coward. Why not just walk up to a kid who bullied or stole your girlfriend and start wailing on them, then no one will mess with you because they will think you really are crazy. But no he kills 3 kids that did nothing to him. All kids are immature and make fun of other kids in ways. They need to make an example of him and kill him, I am sure they will claim blackout, anger issues, bad home life, etc. Poor kid he just needed help, let him go.

This situation is horrifying. But I don't think people completely understand the toll a life of abuse and poor parenting can have on a child's psychology. It's a tragic situation from all sides.

I'm curious...do you have children?

Plenty of kids go through same thing, he was in high school and know that is wrong. But he is a coward and kills 3 kids who had an actual future in front of them, unlike this piece of trash killer.

Yes and I hope and pray nothing like this ever happens to my kid, in either situation. And yes it is easy to condem those kids who are not yours, it is the nature of the beast in all of us.

So then you recognize that you may not be so ridiculously callous and you might not be calling (a teenager) names were this your own child? And you just might not want everyone to jump to the conclusion that your child should immediately be condemned to death had it been your child behind the trigger?

He's a kid with serious issues to me.

What KID don't have serious issues at that age, but for some reason they don't go around COWARDLY killing other kids. Not only is he a coward, but a chicken.
