Handicapping this bad boy is a bear. I'd give Oldham a slight nod, followed very closely by South and Simon Kenton.

 

But the thing about this tournament is that there's really only one duck in the pond. The loser of the Owen/Gallatin game is going to play with any winner on a given night. Same with the loser of the Oldham school's final. It will make for a lot of very competitive games, IMO, and few upsets along the way. I think one of the three I listed are the only ones able to string together three tough wins in a week, but I expect some upsets along the way.

I think any of these teams can take it....Just depends on who comes to play that night. I definitely think there will be some upsets, which are always fun. The 8th is full of talent this year. This will be the most exciting regional tournament the 8th has had in years!

In the beginning of the year, I wouldn't have given you $0.02 for this region. What a nice surprise it has been with several teams having better than expected seasons. You can make a legitimate argument for any of the teams to come out on top. It should be a thriller. Looking forward to KY B-ball in the most atmospheric arena with one of the best concession stands going!

Been my pick since the beginning of the season...had no idea we would beat them by 19, but still convinced that they have the talent to get it done.

I think it will come down to SK or Oldham. Both teams are playing well. Oldham is on a 13 game winning streak and SK is on an 8 game streak.

I haven't seen SK play, but I feel that this could be Owen Co's year.

SK and Oldham are playing well. Like I have always said, "The best team doesn't always win, it's the team that's playing the best." Collins, since losing to Oldham at home on January 20 by 14 points, has won 10 of 12, losing two road games at John Hardin by 8 and Fairdale by 3. I think they are playing pretty well right now also. I say this and I probably jinx them and they lose in the first round of the Region Tournament, but I felt like it had to be said.

Seen Owen play, was impressed with there size but not there outside game. Can't form credible opinions on one game though. Not seen Collins or Anderson. All is you do is look at there results. Anderson hasn't played that tough of a schedule. Out of stae transfers at the end of the year seem to help Collins.
