I'm paying my daughter $50 to not join the Girl Scouts, but it's because I don't want the hassle of selling cookies.

My daughter cheers for Football and Basketball, and she also plays softball for her High School and Travel Ball in the summer. I lost all the way around. Estrogen Drama and Sports Drama. :isurrender:

What was your reason for not wanting her in cheerleading? My 6 year old is starting to get involved in sports and cheerleading and need to know what I'm missing.

My wife, a former 16th Region Player of the Year in basketball, axed cheerleading a long time ago. So I saved some money there. :lol:

Depends on where she cheers, some HS cheer teams cost up to 200 - 400 dollars a month. This includes uniforms, camps, gymnastics, travel expenses, etc. I suggest soccer or golf.

From my experience with my 15 year old, there's a lot of "drama" in any feminine experience (Sorry Rockmom) but there seems more in Cheerleading that I have observed.

Buy $50 worth of cookies and give them to a homeless shelter or drop them off at a nurses station at a hospital. Heck, give the money to the troop in place of selling cookies. How so? People like different things. My brothers and I were never boy scouts, my parents choose to get us involved in sports instead. We turned out alright.
