9th Region Tourney Teams are set

Featured Replies

No kidding.

I still would be surprised though if anyone other than Holmes, Dixie, or Boone goes to Rupp.

With the way this season has been going, apparently nothing is for certain, but I can sorta go with your hunch here, except I'm not sure I can name Holmes in the same breath with Boone and Dixie considering in their regular season outings Dixie won by 17 over the Bulldogs and Boone defeated the dogs by 10. Not one team has truly shown enough consistency to be crowned 9th Region Kings just yet, so this upcoming tourney is proving to be a seriously suspenseful one not to be missed.

Holmes played as bad as possible against Dixie and were in foul trouble the whole game on questionable calls.

Boone game was back and forth until late when Boone pulled away with free throws and Holmes missing shots.

I do like the Dogs chances against Boone more so than Dixie.

Assuming Highlands loses I'm hoping that Holmes draws them in the first round otherwise they might be 1 and done based on the way they been playing lately. Either way, makes for a fun tourny.

It simply doesn't get any better than this!

B.O.K. here we come.

Dont count your chickens there Bulldog. Anything can happen and even if Holmes draws Dixie or Boone,

They Still have to beat the Best to be the Best.

Agreed. Can't overlook anyone at this point. Go hard or go home.

Im a Holmes alum, so I'm spoiled with their recent success. It would be nice to return to Rupp. I'm hoping they get their offense on track and play good hard defense.

4 winners are slotted first via blind draw. They then draw from the losers with the one rule being that a winner of a district can't meet the loser of the same district until the championship game.

I'm not sure if that's what you said or not.

What I am trying to say is that the draw is done by districts. Meaning that if Cooper(33rd) draws Dixie(34th) that means on the other side of the bracket Lloyd(34th) will play Boone(33rd). If Cooper plays a team from the 34th district Boone cannot play a team from the 35th or 36th distict in the first round. So, if the districts match-up on one side of the bracket in the first round, they also match-up on the other side of the bracket.

At least, I have always thought that is how it was.

Holmes will be back at Rupp within the next 3 years....a lot of talent coming up.

Doubleduece I dont think Its that way because in the past there hasnt been that pattern.

Not automatic, they could actually draw the loser of the 36th or CCH also. Depends on other draw of winner of 36th or Holmes.

Last year it was:

33rd v 35th:

Holmes v Boone

Covcath v Ryle

34th v 36th:

Newcath v St Henry

Dixie v Highlands

One thing I wanna see from Holmes is more full court pressing. I don't think anyone can hang with them if they press more often.
