I was thinking more the gambling at church festivals. Bingo is it's own religion.

I was a regular worker at my church Bingo when the lottery started. The bingo did take a substantial hit. I do believe that if casino gaming starts here it will have an impact on bingo.

 

That said I am not at all opposed to the concept of casino gaming here. If they do come into existence I would rarely if ever patronize them. What I am opposed to is the constitutionally mandated monopoly it give the horse industry. The last I heard the language that put 5 of the 7 at tracks had been removed but the 60 mile restriction was still in place. In my limited mind that means that the casinos (if not at the tracks) couldn't be in areas most likely to support them (Louisville, Lexington, Northern Kentucky). If the tracks are so sure that this will be a windfall for them then they should have no problem bidding high enough for the license to get it.

Would prostitution be ok if the money went to the church? How about the profits from drug sales?

As I recall it has to be sold in an area separate from the actual bingo game.

I have been tothe boat in Indiana before, had a great time. I didnt spend my kids college fund, max out a credit card, or rob someone to have money to spend. I went in with 75.00 and that is all I spent, I left with 0.00

 

But I feel it does hurt those who can not control or have will power to not waste their life in this. It is an addiction and hurts a lot of families. If one family be saved from the downfall of gambling then it is worth not having.

 

What about the guards who gambled for Jesus clothes while he was dying on the cross?
