February 22, 201214 yr It wouldnt matter if Obama came out and said he worshipped Satan, he would get a pass by the media. For 1 reason, the double standard which he gets.

Just to make sure I'm completely understanding your position....You would not vote for a candidate if they weren't Christian? Is that correct?
February 22, 201214 yr Just to make sure I'm completely understanding your position....You would not vote for a candidate if they weren't Christian? Is that correct? I would prefer a candidate to be Christian, yes. But how do I know they are really Christian or not. Because they say so.
February 22, 201214 yr What does the Bible say? The Bible says something to the effect of "by their fruit you will recognize them"...meaning that a person's actions/words reveal the nature of their faith. I have a hard time thinking Franklin Graham knows the President well enough to discern the authenticity of his faith.
March 1, 201214 yr I would prefer a candidate to be Christian, yes. But how do I know they are really Christian or not. Because they say so. why should they have to say so . Why should it be a prerequisite to getting elected to public office in this country .
March 1, 201214 yr Don't believe he said it should be a prerequisite. Good or bad, we expect to know everything there is about our candidates. Religion is one thing that is very important to a large segment of the population so they have every right to ask questions. Same thing goes for education. What difference do grades matter when the candidate's been out of school for 30 years? It still comes up regularly though. Nobody knows who is going to turn out to be a good president so we compensate for this uncertainty by wanting to discover everything there is to know about the candidates. In the process I believe we have run off some people that probably would have made good candidates.
March 2, 201214 yr What I find strange is that Obama supporters say it shouldn't matter if he is a Christian or not, but the minute someone question his faith they get upset.
March 2, 201214 yr What I find strange is that Obama supporters say it shouldn't matter if he is a Christian or not, but the minute someone question his faith they get upset. Actually, most question the hypocrisy of questioning one person and not the other.

March 2, 201214 yr Actually, most question the hypocrisy of questioning one person and not the other. He was asked a question and gave his honest opinion.
March 2, 201214 yr He was asked a question and gave his honest opinion. That doesn't mean that his opinion isn't hypocritical.
March 12, 201214 yr Mr Graham is not the only person from the south that questions if President Obama is a Muslim and not a Christian. 52% of likely GOP voters in MS say he is a Muslim. 46% in Alabama say the same. 41% aren't sure.
March 13, 201214 yr If I may offer this answer... He is a preacher. That is what a preacher does...calls people to faith, challenges their faith, and/or calls out the sin in their life and turns them to God. And most preachers that have surrendered to the Godly call to preach, have concluded that, in the end, they have to answer to God and not those that may have been rubbed the wrong way. This means that they preach anyway, even if they are persecuted or misunderstood. You may not agree or you may think it is silly...that is ok. I am not trying to prove anything, only offering an answer from a different perspective. I will tell you that if God wants to challenge my Christianity, through Mr Graham or any other preacher, I am all ears. I need God and I need all the help I can get. My hope would be that Franklin would have learned a lesson from his father Billy about politics. Billy has stated one of the greatest mistakes he ever made was allowing Richard Nixon to drag him into the political arena with his support. The elder Graham said he realized his mistake when he heard the White House tapes and heard a Nixon he did not know and realized he was as much used as being useful. :thumb:
